Glad it was just one night
We stayed one night since we had an early flight. Looks like they tried to do some renovations which is why the pictures appear good, but they didn’t renovate everything, the tub was old, luckily we only took showers. The carpet had a smell, I sprayed some Lysol to try to help that. Guess I expected better from Marriott.

The condition of the property was below Marriott standard. Furniture in the room was stained. Overall property was dated and dingy.
I was unaware of the 21 years age limit and was not allowed into the hotel, I was at the hotel due to a flight rebooking and they turned me away. I called customer support multiple times but they “couldn’t find me in the system” to give me a refund for my booking.
I've been a Marriott member for over 20 years. When my daughter got stuck in Richmond, I made a reservation at the Courtyard but they would not let her check-in as she is not 21. They would not make an exception and recommended I call hotels in Richmond until I found one that would take her. However, they gladly kept the prepaid booking fee.
The lady at check-in seemed to have an attitude and wasn't very helpful. The room was adequate, but wasn't as clean and refreshed as you would expect from a Marriott room and there also were light bulbs that were blown out.
I liked everything .... especially as it is close to the airport and Park N Go.
I like Shauna because she is efficient and remembers me. Sometimes travel thru RIC every other month. I live in Charlottesville and taxis are not reliable here.
