Very quiet location with great view from our room. Restaurant was excellent. Didn’t have a reservation but they fit us in. (Didn’t know that was a thing in a hotel restaurant but is apparently a thing in Iceland as it happened at two other places we stayed after this. Lesson learned.) Very remote but convenient for where we were traveling. Breakfast was good as well. Staff were all very friendly.

Our Hotel Laki Stay
The breakfast and dinner we had was exceptional. The room was very clean and comfortable. The only challenge was we were in Room 105, and we had above noise with the moving of furniture until midnight. We are not sure if our room was below the dining room area, but we could not fall asleep until the movement of furniture stopped.

Friendly Staff
Stayed two nights. Very friendly staff. Fast check in and out. The room and halls arent very nice. Very basic and walls are very thin. The restaurant, deck, and lounge are beautiful. I felt they made up for the room. A nice breakfast included with your stay.

Beautiful
A beautiful hotel located near many great attractions and beautiful scenery! We only stayed for one night, but I would love to return and fully appreciate what this hotel offers.

We seemed to have been in the unrenovated area of the hotel where the walls are entirely too thin. Even the floors seemed thin and creaked as you walk on them so we heard the creaking floors from the floor above as well. I wish they would offer prices that are reduced than what we paid for if we were going to be in the old part. Otherwise charging that much for that room seems unfair. What bothered me the most was that the sheets did NOT smell fresh at all. It smelled used or not all the way washed. Yikes. For pros, check in was super fast, staff was very friendly and the surrounding area beautiful. Also easy to get to from the 1 with an arch to welcome you in from the road.

Shower had issues, it was loose and never stay in the desired position, soap dispenser was extremly watered down, TV was clearly new and smart TV but the hotel disabled all the smart features such as to cast and use streaming service so made it pretty much useless. For the high price i would go somewhere else.

We ended up staying at Hotel Laki twice during our third trip to Iceland. Once on the way out to Egilsstaðir, and a few nights later on the way back to Selfoss. The hotel included free breakfast which was fantastic. There’s also a cozy bar attached to the restaurant. Dinner was good, three lamb chops, carrots and potatoes for $53 US. Typical Icelandic, pricey but delicious. We took a walk down to the lake to enjoy some nature. Very peaceful. We enjoyed staying in this family owned hotel. It was nice to see the family and staff having breakfast together before starting the work day.
