Needs a major upgrade
We stayed 2 nights in unit 2 in June 2024. Check in was chaotic and unorganized. The deck on the river is lovely, relaxing and as advertised. Everything else was substandard from checkin, to the overall state of the aging 4-plex units to the cleanliness. There was an empty beer bottle in the fridge left from the prior guest. An exploded beer bottle in the freezer (big mess), the shower had clumps of hair on the floor. The cabins are very dated, past the cozy funky/bohemian stage and well into needing significant updates from the bed to the kitchen. The road in and out was strewn with garbage, dilapidated housing, unattended dumpsters and trash cans rolling around (I’m not exaggerating). It’s a dump. Klickitat River is stunning and the surrounding MT Adams area were gorgeous and we fortunately spent our time hiking and birdwatching which we had thankfully pre-planned. This minimized our time at the Inn for which we were grateful. We stay almost exclusively in VRBO’s when traveling within the US and internationally. We have NEVER before left a negative review. We like to support small venues in small towns rather than high end exclusive lodging. The cost of our stay at the Klickitat River Inn was way overpriced for the accommodations and we recommend you stay elsewhere til this site undergoes a major upgrade and the immediate surroundings are cleaned up. Lodging in White Salmon, Bingen, or Lyle offer good access to the area and might be a much better option for travelers.

Great place
I wish I had more time just to hang out by the river . They had a awesome setup with bbq and fire pit. The room was clean and set-up for my stay. Listen to the owners suggestions about bringing your own food. The Huntington has great food, but———.! I would stay there again.

Cozy and Relaxing Stay - Hidden Little Gem
We had a great stay! The back deck overlooking the river was lovely. There were plenty of tables, firepits, cornhole, fun lighting etc. We went to the local steakhouse for dinner and the food and service were great! The property says "pet friendly" but there is an additional $20 per day pet fee and pets are not allowed on the furniture. Overall it was a cozy and relaxing weekend. Thanks!

Klickitat + Perseid Meteor Shower
We had a nice stay at Ken & Linda's. The place was immaculate and well set up. It was very clean. The Klickitat River is outstanding with a great view from the lodging. The manager Linda was very responsive but I urge changing the large photo on the webpage. We chose the lodging based on a wide open view on the patio. A roof was installed that entirely covered the patio. So our planned Perseid meteor shower view was busted. Could not see sky.

This is a pleasant place to stay with a wonderful large outside area overlooking the Klickitat River. My friend and I spent mornings having coffee, and evenings with glasses of wine while we watched the river roll by. During the day, we would take the scenic drive, and head to Hood River, and touring the area. I would stay here again! Vicki

Confusing check in process... Code to lock box did not work. No real and clear information on how to contact owners once you are there (no cell phone or wifi connectivity). Owners live across the street (who knew?!). No mask was worn; this should at the very least be courtesy and asked if they should. I have an auto-immune illness and cannot get vaccinated for COVID. Had to explain this to the owner as they asked to have a window repair person come in to measure a broken window. Repair person did not have a mask with him and commented on the fact. I am the customer here and should not have to explain all of this. Room air freshener smelled really bad; had to put it under the sink. The air was not turned on and room was super hot. Beautiful setting; maybe it was not a good day for them; they did say they had a new staff member, but this should not be the go to excuse. Owner and the staff were personable, respectful and nice (that i really liked). Love the area but not sure about the stay. It was recommended by my healthcare co-workers. Not sure i will recommend to my long time co-workers.

Great weekend hideaway!
We had a very relaxing weekend at the Klickitat Inn. I was grateful the hosts had pots, pans, baking sheets and even oil and a few spices so we were able to cook basically just as if we were at home. The patio is amazing, and we also cooked a few ribeye steaks on the community grill. Thanks for a really nice stay!

Hidden gems: property, staff, AND owner
There's not enough space to go into all the amazing things about this space. We celebrated my partner's birthday here and everyone made it an incredible experience. Staff is accommodating, friendly, and just sweet people. The owner treats you as family, and the views? Holy cow! Working from that deck made going back to my room difficult. LOL

No Cell Service
The town of Klickitat does not have cell service. The property manager waited until the 2 day cancellation policy had expired to message me with a note to print off the confirmation letter because you will not have cell service. My stay was a working vacation so no service was going to be a problem but the property manager then assured me I would have no issues witH cell service. Once checked into the property you can make callS thru WiFi but after you step off the grounds plan for no service. The property manager did bring up a landline phone that is shared with the main house on the property. Speaking of the grounds: this is a dog friendly property, so plan for unleashed dogs and dog poop in all grassy areas. During my stay, there was what appeared to be a long term tenant who just opens his door and let’s his dog out to do his business unleashed and unattended. My room had an ant problem. I had a constant stream of ants to the table that I never had food on. I was able to purchase some ant traps and limit the spread of ants during my stay. My stay was for 20 days so I ha e a few interactions with the cleaning staff, both ladies I had contact with were very nice and easy to work with. The Klickitat river runs right behind the property that offers easy access, just a few hundred feet up the road. Wildlife is abundant as I was fortunate enough to see an eagle and deer family from my window. This is a great place to unplug and unwind. It is not recommended if you need to stay connected.

Fishing Retreat in Klickitat
Suite #3 was a great home base from which to stage our Klickitat fishing trip. It had all the amenities we needed and was within easy walking distance to the only eatery in town. The setting was great and we enjoyed our time in Klickitat. We would rebook for future fishing trips.

Relaxing, cozy hideaway with a few hiccups
The property was great for us & our toddler. Bed was comfortable, unit was clean, the river setting out back was so peaceful. When we arrived another family was in the room we were told was ours in the email. We tried our key code next door & it worked. The downsides: It wasn’t clear where to park, especially if all 4 units are occupied. There was no cell reception, I wish we could’ve prepared for that. Because of this I think each room should have a telephone for use. It was extremely difficult to communicate with the outside world. Unit 3 seemed to be the only unit with sheer curtains this made it difficult to sleep in with the bright sunrise. If you’re looking for a peaceful river setting this is perfect. Would return & would recommend!

We really enjoyed our stay. The fall colors and drive to Klickitat were wonderful. Our top floor room had a great view of the river. We've never been here before. I have to say that this was one of the best experiences I've ever had. The property was beautiful. We had everything we needed. The owners of the property came and checked in with us daily. If there was anything we needed they were a phone call away. We WILL DEFINITELY BE GOING BACK! Thank you for the AMAZING hospitality.
