Nice and cozy place, felt like being in Spirited Away!
Somethings looked a bit ‘used’, but had clearly had a light refresh recently.
Everything was very clean and the staff were very welcoming, polite and helpful.
Overall a great stay. Staff was nice, room was clean and large, bed was comfortable. Public baths were lovely. Dinner was delicious but so much food. I'd stay again. Loved the town, hike up to the shrine, and sake museum next door.
Magnificent ryokan experience! Friendly staff, clean private baths, and delicious breakfast. Be aware that no one can wear shoes in the building - they are stored in lockers near the door. It keeps the hotel and tatami mats spotlessly clean. I loved this hotel so much!
Terrible for sleeping because there is a very bright motion detector light outside the ensuite bathroom that you cannot deactivate. I asked at the front desk about this and they confirmed. It is possible I misunderstood.
Otherwise the staff and the facility is spectacular. You must be prepared to enjoy an authentic Japanese experience.
My first ryokan/onsen & kaiseki meal experiences and staff were all great in helping make me and all guests as comfortable as possible. Top notch service and excellent location.
Absolutely incredible experience especially for the price. Just make sure to reserve both dinner and breakfast during your booking if you want to eat more than ramen for dinner (still very tasty though). The staff was extremely kind as well
They got the public onsen or 4 different style private onsen at the 1/F is free of charge, 24 hours drinks are provide, Yakult is provide in the morning, ice bar is available in the afternoon until late night, supper time they provide ramen at the restaurant, it’s valuable to stay in town like a resort. Unfortunately, the food for breakfast and dinner is not that exciting, alcohol drink is not included for dinner.
This is a really lovely hotel and the service is impeccable. The rooms are clean and very welcoming. The services of the hotel are quite nice and we had a nice stay. The only negative was dinner was offered either early 5PM or late 8PM. This is not the hotels fault, the full dinner does take time and also they go to the trouble to thoroughly clean after guests have left. So we were very appreciative for their effort to clean. Unfortunately we were unaware of the time options so ended up with the later dinner. The hotel does contact you by email in advance so I would recommend confirming the dinner time in advance. It was a delightful dinner and breakfast the next morning equally quite extravagant. We would highly recommend staying here. .
This ryokan inn looks historical from outside but it is totally rebuilt inside so everything inside is new and clean. Hot spring communal bath is very nice equipped with sauna. It also has 3 private bathes for those with tattoos or couples. The best part is its food. Dinner was one of the best I have ever had. The chef must have had great training somewhere in the industry. The worst part is its room. At ryokan inn, I have never seen such small room. Its size is that of Japanese city business hotel. The price is set accordingly so I should not complain much. If you don’t mind small room, this inn offers 5 star quality hot spring ryokan experience.
