We may be biased in our review, as we came to this hotel after stays in 3 great hotels in Malaysia (JW Marriott KL, EO Hotel Penang, Danna Langkawi), but still… This place is genuinely horrible. No clue how they got their stars. To start, we had asked to be picked up from the airport by the hotel. Worst decision ever, as we were bombarded by whatsapp messages from 5 different numbers to ask us about our arrival. Pure pressure. Then, when we arrived to the hotel (midnight), there was no one that helped us with the luggage from the car. The receptionist looked like she hated her job. In our room, we found that the safe was not functioning, so the hotel staff got the great idea to come and fix the safe in our room at 1am, not thinking that us sleeping after a flight would be a good idea, maybe? (however, to be fair, we got an upgrade after expressing discontent with this situation). The buffet is bad. The “collection” buffet is literally a joke. The towels in the rooms smell dirty. Even the rooms are objectively ugly. Also, the rooms are not well isolated, you can hear everything the neighbours say. Then, towards the end, the hotel people seemed to be in a rush to check us out (guy showed up 5 minutes in advance for the checkout).
Joke of a hotel. Have been to dozens of hotels around the world, including 3*, 4*, and 5*. This place is not worthy of a 3*. Do not recommend.
To be fair, this hotel was so bad that it actually made our trip better: we even wrote a postcard about it.
