The front desk staff were very helpful. A few members of the staff spoke very good English, so it was easy to check in. The hotel is very nice, as was the room where I stayed. A lovely mix of modern and traditional. I only had two issues: the hotel was in an awkward location, and the duvets weren't very wide.

Our room has 2 queen and one sofa bed, which were both fluffy and firm, and really comfortable. The large walk in shower and sauna were attractive and clean, and the staff helpful

The hotel was pretty new so advice to bring hotel information for taxi drivers. It’s so beautiful and they have free amenities and coffee and water in the lobby. We didn’t try the restaurant but it looked delicious.

Honestly when I booked this property I thought I might be getting scammed based on how nice it was for the price. I was very pleased to see that the room we booked(the deluxe suite) was even nicer in person. The bathroom with sauna was heavenly. Instead of immediately walking around Kyoto and sightseeing for our one day trip, I ended up spending 4 hours in our private little spa room just relaxing(and I regret nothing). Far and away the nicest hotel room I have ever stayed in but far from the most expensive. The staff at the front desk were very nice and spoke English. The coffee bar was a very nice touch. The only hitch was the electronic room controls in our room that controlled the blinds seemed to be malfunctioning with no clear solution. Luckily the room was secluded enough that having the blinds stuck open didn’t matter all that much, it was mostly the sunlight in the morning waking us a little earlier than expected but hey, it got us out of bed and encouraged us to see a little bit more of Kyoto’s beauty before we head to check out. Even with this slight hitch, still a 5/5 experience.
