Almost everything about this hotel is perfect. The room was very clean and the staff are just the best! I especially liked the bathroom, which we had the standing shower and tub. The water pressure is strong and I feel like I get a little massage from it. My only complaint of the hotel is the location. It is 11 minutes away from the nearest subway station and walking in the summer heat was too much. The nearest bus stop is 3 minutes away so that helped. Dining options are not as great as it is in an area that is more residential. Although the very best sushi restaurant we ever had is just across the hotel. I think if this hotel was located in a more popular area the daily rate would have been much higher. So we paid mid price for a luxury hotel. They don’t have laundromat on site but provide laundry service. There was a coin laundromat on the street behind the hotel so it was not too bad to walk over to do our laundry. Would we choose this place again? If in cooler weather we would definitely stay here again as walking for 11 minutes is not bad if it is not too hot. And if you like a quiet area, then this hotel is perfect.

My stay at KAYA Kyoto Nijo Castle was truly delightful for me and my wife. The hotel was exceptionally quiet and clean, providing a peaceful and comfortable environment. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating, always ready to assist with any needs or questions. Additionally, the location was excellent, making it easy to explore the beautiful city of Kyoto. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting the area.

Great hotel
One of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed in. Brand new hotel with everything you need inside. The room has a traditional Japanese house vibe and very pretty. Complimentary beverage in the lounge from 17:00-22:00(including alcohol!) Staff super friendly and several days we opt to not have room service, a bag with fresh towels and new amenity kits were hanging on our doorknob when we came back.

Awesome gem tucked away
Our room was a beautiful Japanese inspired room with a view facing the neighborhood. The room included all amenities with fruit juices in the room refrigerator, lovely wooden handled razor and other items, a safe, etc. The front desk staff were always friendly and attentive to our questions. The restaurant had delicious and ample meals, even including free coffee, beer, and sake if you were not dining in the restaurant. We would definitely stay there again on our next trip to Kyoto!

Basic property. Limited breakfast options. My partner became unwell after eating the scrambled eggs. Looks like leftovers from the day before are reheated. Based on this, would not recommend despite the hotel being in a decent location.
