I want to sincerely thank Mr. Sai for his outstanding service and dedication. Due to me an accidental booking error, our two rooms were booked on different floors. When I explained that my 73-year-old mother couldn’t stay alone, Mr. Sai personally stepped in to resolve the situation. Mr Sai handled the case with great care and understanding, ensuring that we were accommodated at the same floor which is Peak Period in Kyoto. His empathy, professionalism, and quick action turned a potential challenge into a stress-free experience for us. Thank you, Mr. Sai, for going the extra mile and showing such genuine concern. Your hard work is truly appreciated!

The staff were friendly, helpful and professional. The lobby and dining options has a nice touch to it. Room reservation was at a reasonable price too. There are better options for the price. Hotel doesn't cater to international tourists, feels like a convention centre or business hotel than for families/couples.

We stayed in the tatami room on the oriental floor. We stayed in 5 hotels during our vacation in Japan. Rihga Royal was the most spacious place that we stayed in during on our whole stay. The room had two beds and two floor beds in one section, a large walk in shower and bathtub, a large closet room, and a foyer. They provide very good amenities. Nespresso machine was a plus. The only drawback was the distance to the train station. It’s about a 10 minute walk to Kyoto station. The hotel offers a free shuttle service but we had to walk many times as the shuttle was not running during early and late hours. This wasn’t a problem for my family as my kids are older and can walk without difficulty. Overall, our stay was great and we would stay here again.

I am not sure how this hotel is so highly rated. Our room was very dark, the sliding window shades were made of very thin paper-like fabric and it was torn. The bathroom was disgusting. There was a mold/mildew smell from the shower curtains. It reeked so badly it was hard to use the bathroom.

Excellent room and service
Location is a bit remote from the station and any convenience store, but service and cleanliness are great. The rooms have plenty of space. Only one small issue is that they do not have onsite coin laundry, they only provide their own expensive laundry service.

The deluxe rooms are towards the railway track and the noise will make you crazy and those rooms are more expensive than others,

The location was very good, closer to station, closer to the Aeon mall which had very good food options and shopping. The staff was also very friendly and helpful.

The place was just okay. would pay more for higher quality of the room. Maintenance staff needs touch up the rusty metal rust. They can unless touch up metal area surface in the bedroom. Go out pay more for higher quality hotel.
