Great location, but no way to store your clothes
Location is excellent turn right out the door and keep walking straight to maze of shopping streets. Or turn right out the door and then left at the first intersection. Keep walking, amazing stores and shops. There is a bakery downstairs and a convenience store across the road and many many other eating places nearby. We only used GO Taxi , so did not use the subway. I did not give this hotel nine or 10 stars. The rooms are small not only are they small, there is nowhere and I mean nowhere to put your clothes. Very small hanging area and for the rest no shelves, no drawers. Clothing was lying all over the floor, chairs and table, the bathtub was very hard to step into. Sheets and towels OK toiletries great but the beds were on the hard side as were the pillows. The staff polite and helpful. Rooms are clean. There is a kettle with coffee, but it was too difficult for us to use so we went downstairs and bought coffee. There is a safe slippers and of course, the usual pajamas on the bed which we did not use.

Room felt a bit dated / worn but perfectly usable. 2nd floor was a little noisy (from street level) but the coin laundry on the floor was a plus. Easy walking distance to Nishiki and shopping, nearby shrine and delightful riverside area. Short subway ride from the regional train or Kyoto station (taxi also relatively inexpensive).
