Umekoji station is just 1 stop away from Kyoto station about a 5 min ride on the local train. The hotel is located right across the Umekoji station exit/entrance about a 3min walk across Umekoji park. Lawson store is right next door so easy to get snacks/food, they even have a door straight into the hotel which you access with your room key. There weren't restaurants close to the hotel so we caught the train to Kyoto station for our evening meals. The breakfast buffet was simple but adequate nothing fancy. The staff spoke english and was helpful. It's not a place if you're looking for night life.

The Royal Park is misrepresented! In the pictures online it looks good. It was not what I saw online. My allergies were horrible! The food was awful! I would never recommend this hotel. Also I was charged a lot more than I selected. I am filing a claim with the insurance company for misrepresentation. I should have gone to a doctor, but was nervous in a country that I don’t know.

The hotel was beautiful inside and the rooms are spacious! The area surrounding the property (park, aquarium and subway stop) was very nice! Would definitely recommend and stay at this hotel again in the future.

This hotel was beautiful! The staff were very welcoming and accommodating. I loved the pajamas that were folded in our room. The public bath was nice - it was my first time trying a public bath but it was easy and comfortable with their clearly posted instructions and clean facilities. Our room was beautiful with high tech lighting and bathroom, and i used the soaker tub about 5 times because it was so comfortable. Konbini attached is also very convenient. will come again!

You have the train and bus stop like 2 min walking. The hotel is within a park where you can walk calmly at any time of the day. You have the Aquarium nearby. The hotel is very beautiful and clean, the staff is very helpful and polite.

Very nice location, only 2 min walk to the train station. You can enter the hotel directly from the entry of the convenient store next to the hotel. There are also couple of museums near the hotel area.

猛暑なので、帰宅時にお土産を入れて持って帰るために保冷剤と保冷バッグを持参しました。 9月13日早朝、荷物を預ける際に保冷剤（キャンプ等で使用する有料の繰り返し使用できるもの）2個を16日のチェックアウト時まで冷凍庫で保管するようにお願いしました。冷蔵品を沢山買い、いざチェックアウトで保冷剤を受けとると1個はカチカチではないにしても凍っていましたが、もう１個は全く凍っていませんでした。自宅の普通の冷蔵庫の冷凍室でも1日入れればカチカチに凍るのに、3日も預けて凍っていない。スタッフも全く謝罪しない。仕方がないので、京都駅の伊勢丹で買い物をして、無料の小さな保冷剤を足しました。本当に最悪。
