I arrived on Sunday afternoon and the person at reception was absolutely very nice. I proceeded to want to have something to eat. The person was very....not rude but unflexible. The dinning area was full, according to what she said but there were tables available. I then asked, if I could be served in the bar area. I was by the coast so, I wanted to eat fish&chips, she said that it was not possible as there were different areas. I proceeded to explained how hungry I was and she kept on saying "they are different areas" and that was it. I found that very poor on their side. So, I went to Troon to have a very nice fish&chips and I think that hotel can do much better with a bit of flexibility.

Hotel was clean and public areas very nice. Room was clean and large. Bathroom door very stiff to open and close as was bedroom door. Breakfast was ok but could have been better
Hotel was little dated in places. However main shared areas, where of higher standard.
Certainly a decent price for a couple. But was a solo traveller not so much.
But have reviewed as such, as normally would be two :))
I stayed at the hotel because I was visiting family in the area. I arrived at the hotel to check in late evening. The receptionist on my arrival was very welcoming and helpful. The room was very comfortable and the shower and bathing facilities were excellent. The only slight complaint I have is that the bedding sheets were slightly damp but after a long relaxing hot bath in the morning that was a distant memory.
Absolutely fantastic place a bit of a walk to the room which we had a laugh about big hotel lovely clean and food was amazing

Rooms could do with an update as furniture worn & bathrooms a bit grubby. Bar, dining room & foyer all excellent, very spacious 4/5 star, rooms more 3 star.
Had wonderful stay. Lovely breakfast and staff very friendly. Would recommend and woukd definitely come back.

Comfortable, but dated.
The room was big and comfortable, everything worked perfectly well, but definitely dated. (I don't know the actual construction dates, but the vibe was a hotel built in the 50s or 60s and not notably renovated since.) My only complaints about the room are minor: it felt like the kind of place that should have a fridge (but didn't) and it didn't have any kind of AC. It didn't need the latter on my trip, but I would be concerned about the temperature in winter.
The lack of a fridge was more notable because the restaurant wasn't great and it's a bit of a walk into the town centre for other food options. The hotel breakfast was great, but the dinner I had there did not inspire me to eat there again.
