I traveled as a single parent with two children (13yrs & 11yrs) to Martinique, our second time to the island. We arrived super late (11:30pm) in the dark with a rental car and were greeted by a security guard who helped us locate the welcome packet, key to the cabin and showed us where to go. Basic great clean cabin, bring toilet paper, paper towels, sponge, dish soap, & blankets. They provide towels for the bathroom, pool towels (European style, not plush), and sheets. We had to ask for a set of sheets for the bunkbed the next morning, they were not provided the first night. Wifi at the Village is extremely unreliable, which after awhile I just gave up trying to connect - part of a vacation mentality. The Village location is near a wind-surfing / kite beach which is amazing to watch - and you can walk in the water up to your knees for a long long way - but not really a swimming type beach. Fabulous shack type beach restaurants at this beach though, with lots of choice for treats & a good meal. We drove 30 minutes each day to Les Salines (most beautiful beach on the island) and enjoyed our day trips. Carrefour Grocery store to stock up is about 30 minutes heading North, we did that the first day too. Pool area & snack bar shack was nice. The staff at the resort were nice enough but not once did anyone ask us how our stay was or if we were having a good time. If you attempt some French, some people will attempt English, but the language barrier was tough at times for me...
