About this property

Forest is for rest, Quiet and private location in the mountains Forrest Cump.

This Tent 1 is called “Forrest Cump”, partially because it is placed right in the middle of a forest on the side of a mountain and because you can do your own thing! It is very private place, yet it is just a short walk to the driveway. There are no other tents or houses that you can see around you. This is just for you, your friends and family. The Tent itself is a large luxury Tent that has four beds.
The Tent sits on a deck with rounded terrace where you can sit and watch the forest grow. Take your time. No rush. Forest takes a long time to grow. Take your mind from the hustle and fast-moving city life, take time for yourself.
Off the deck there is a large picnic area with fire pit and log benches. You try to get into the hummock, which can be a challenge, if you are out of practice.
The toilet and the shower cabin, are behind the Tent in the woods. The toilet is called “Poo-Pee” toilet, because of its eco-friendly design. The shower is an outdoor shower.
Besides the Tent itself you have 180 acres of land to roam around. Hiking trails, Fishing pond. Mountain views.
The civilization in the form of the town of Lenoir is about 11 miles away. There you can find all regular brand shops, fast food, restaurants etc.
The town of Hickory offers more choices and also a very large lake with several marinas, where you can get a boat.
There is a Tennis court in a community park about 5 minutes away by car.
Asheville is about 1.5 hr away to the West and Charlotte is about 1.5 hr away to the East.
The nearest airport is Concord Regional Airport, 115 km from the accommodation.
Make yourself comfortable in your accommodation. There's a private patio. The bathroom has a shower.
This campground offers designated smoking areas.

May not be for everyone
We did enjoy are stay. The setting is private & peaceful. It would have been perfect except for a few things. There were no reviews when we booked as it was a new listing. There were some important truths missing from the listing at the time. Hopefully it has since been updated so others will know what they are in for & can make a more informed choice. Things to know: there is no electricity. The lights in the pictures are from solar panels; there is a very cool outdoor shower but it is cold water only; the description was "a short walk from the parking area"...lie of omission. It is short climb up a steep hill with no hand holds while carrying all of your gear. The elevation change is roughly 60 ft so it's like 6 flights of steep stairs. If you have ankle, knee, hip, back, balance issues or severe Asthma, I would not recommend. How short it is depends on how long it takes you to make the climb. We bike regularly and it still kicked our butts. We decided not to bring stuff up & just did without. The drive up is off the main road and is on a gravel road with parking in a grass field. The last thing is something that can't be helped. It is nature, the mountains and no outdoor living area, cabin or tent is impermeable to bugs. It was stink bug season for us. In the spring it might be lady bugs. We are campers and are used to it so it wasn't a deal breaker. If you don't do bugs, then don't stay here. The climb was really our deal breaker. The tent and platform are great.
