A stunning 18th century cottage situated in the idyllic Dales village of Carlton-in Coverdale. This cosy retreat offers bags of character with original features. Spacious living areas to gather for good times around the log burner, or dinner table. Front and rear gardens offer views of the rolling hills. Enclosed rear courtyard suntrap. The space
We love this cottage because it has so many wonderful period features dating back to the 18th century but has all the mod cons and style of today. Every window has a spectacular view of breathtaking countryside. The landscaped gardens to the front are picturesque whilst the garden at the back is a field full of natural beauty. Just a 5 minute drive to Middleham, 10 to the market town of Leyburn where you will find all the shops and pubs, and 20 to Hawes, it’s perfectly situated to have access to all the Dales has to offer. Every room has been individually and lovingly designed to make sure a holiday here is a five star retreat.

lovely weekend
Lovely cottage. Very peaceful. The log burner was nice to use as it took a while for the cottage to warm up with the heaters and the day we arrived it was pretty cold. The cottage had everything you need for a stay. We all agreed that the beds and pillows were very comfortable and we all slept well. Nice location to visit Leyburn, Hawes and Aysgarth. The only issue one of our party had was with the pressure of the shower. However, this is mentioned and personally I did not have a problem with the shower.

Lovely house and area
Such a gorgeous house and the area was lovely. Well equipped and we loved the treats left for us! Would have liked not to have had to share a hairdryer and if we’d have been there for longer than a weekend, the showers would have been an issue (super low water pressure).

We had the most amazing weekend at this stunning cottage. The location was just perfect for a peaceful relaxing getaway. The enclosed front garden was perfect for our dog to safely come and go into the cottage. We had all mod cons and the treats that were left were so thoughtful. It was really spacious, very clean and all the bedrooms were of a good size. The bed in the ensuite room was so comfortable. We will definitely be back. We had no face to face contact with the hosts but the communication was excellent and we knew they were available if needed. The pub down the road serves the most amazing food (booking advised)

Perfect Peaceful Retreat
The cottage and outside space was both spacious and secure for our pup. Charming, welcoming and clean with incredible views. Thank you for the welcome pack and all the little extras that we may have needed, and giving us all the information we needed! Very kind and helpful hosts. We sure did enjoy our home from home stay and enjoyed the downtime and the many country walks and trips out (everything is just a short car distance away).
