Bit of a joke, claim to have emailed entry.detsils to.us on the day we travelled. We were in transit but it never arrived. No lights on a very dark sign & eventually we had to telephone to get access in the pouring rain. Given the codes to.the two doors, there's no light near so had to use phone torch to get in.
Characterful property, great location couple of minutes from the Cathedral and Castle,, comfy room with great view, room 2, quiet, friendly discreet staff, pubs, shops and cafes next door. Lincoln people friendly too and compact walkable centre. Relaxing enjoyable stay.
Always a pleasure to stay at the Bail house. A lovely old building with warm comfortable rooms. Sited in the old part of Lincoln it is incredibly well placed for visits to the castle, cathedral, Lincolnshire life museum, 'Steep Street' and all the olde world charm of ancient Lincoln
This hotel is in a great location for the old town and cultural/cathedral quarter of the city. The cleaning staff were very friendly but our room was old and tired furnishing and fixtures/fittings and I really disliked the self service element of check in and out. There wasn't a single person in service during our three day stay to ask anything of or to check on us from a customer service point of view.
Room advertised as private bathroom. Bathroom was in fact not attached to the room so you had to walk down hallway in full view of reception area. Bathroom had black mould round shower tray, top of shower tray, around the electric shower attachment and on all the buttons. Horrible. Mattress was old fashioned spring and lumpy with springs being felt easily, The hotel itself has no staff so its self entry when the guy turns up from the other place to let you in. The room itself was clean enough. There was no pen, no desk area to work at (I was held up overnight so ended up staying in Lincoln hence the booking) and no hairdryer. TV didnt even work - not tuned in or something but basically no channels received. No on there to complain to as no staff. The whole place is tired and needs renovation. Not worth the price - go to a premier inn for the same money and get cleaner bathroom.
Very nice room. Lovely sitting room and pleasant courtyard in a beautiful area of uphill Lincoln.
Never saw any staff (but I left early and got in late) but phone help was prompt and courteous.
If you want to be waited on hand and foot, probably try somewhere else but if you want peace and quiet, like me, it's great.
Stunning room, very comfortable, although strangely furnished. A small wardrobe in place of the hanging rail would be better suited with less random storage furniture scattered about. Brilliant location, no parking on site though.
Perfect location for historic Lincoln. Short walk to cathedral an castle. However, property and furnishings a little tired and worn (our curtains were threadbare). The public area was littered with dirty cutlery and crockery as it seems guests didn't appreciate it was not a staffed property. The outside seating areas could do with some tidying and updating.

Ok for short stay but tired rooms in need of redecoration - clean linen & condiment tray good - location brilliant for cathedral & castle surrounded by lots of pubs & restaurants
fabulous central location and parking a plus although not secure as advertised. in need of a good refurb, communal areas great but our room very tired and not as clean as it could have been
