Very good

This listing was deceiving. I had a very small dog and was put in a room built in the 1960s that still look like it was from the original 1960s. They did do a small update on the bathroom. But everything else was not up-to-date. The window a/c unit was blasting cold air and could not get it adjusted. The room smelled stale and musty.
it would’ve been nice to have seen this before booking. I was under the impression that it would be part of the older section the historical section. I understand the building is old and they are trying to slowly do some renovations, but they could’ve posted on their website what the room truly looks like. Staff was not very friendly or accommodating. Parking is terrible! Needed handicap parking, and all the parking was taken up both nights when we arrived.
It was a nice property. Very old and historic. We had a small pet. So I think we were banished to the basement, but it was ok. No microwave or small fridge in our room. We needed to heat the dogs food for a minute. We asked if they could, but there would have been a charge to get a microwave out of storage. So we figured another option for him.
My sole interest was for a quiet, clean, comfortable overnight space and the Concord Colonial Inn certainly delivered on that. Room 10 was all of that!
The Colonial Inn in Concord is an historic inn right on the green in town. The rooms are clean and well appointed. The rooms in the prescott wing are smaller in general than rhe historic section. They have a cool bar and good food, not fantastic but good.
There are many historic revolutionary sites very close by and a gormet market and various restaurants within walking distance of the Inn
Its a beautifully, well restored old hotel
Probably our best night in day
We strongly recommends

Not so friendly check in
Four guest had to wait 30 minutes, unattended check in counter. Attendant got pissed off when my husband was in the counter trying to find a number to check in. Maybe a ring bell could be available. Where was he anyway? As soon as you go in the hotel, there's a pungent smell. Old carpet needs changing. Tight shower space. No lift for heavy luggage. Very tired so one night stay can be tolerable. BUT WONT STAY HERE AGAIN.
The stay at the Colonial Inn is an interesting historical experience right on the Common in Concord so that in an of itself makes it worth considering. However, the quality of the food coming out of the kitchen is decidedly mediocre and would really need to be improved for this property to earn more stars. Secondly, a fire alarm sounded at about 5:48 in the morning which roused what appeared to be most of the occupants of the hotel onto the surrounding streets and parking lots for roughly 1 hour. What was most concerning though is that fire trucks did not appear until 6:16 so if there really was a fire, there wouldn't have been much left of this old dry 1700's wooden building by the time they arrived. Also, there did not appear to be any representative of the hotel at the front where about half of the guests were located to provide any updates on what was going on. It all seemed to be a rather confused disorganized hot mess. Thankfully, the firefighters eventually packed up and left apparently not having found anything...at least that was what everyone appeared to take from their departure and then took that as their cue to reenter the building...as there did not appear to be anyone from the hotel telling anyone what was going on and that it was safe to reenter....or to apologize for the early awakening and lost sleep.
We loved it! We have eaten there numerous times when visiting out East and Boston, however we have never stayed until there now. My mother cannot do steps so they were very accommodating and placed on the main floor. The bed was so comfortable! Very relaxing and clean. It is dated however it is also historic and has an historic charm! We have a small kitchenette-esk area as well. Clean and friendly! (I even saw a Revolutionary ghost! - not in our room thankfully!) It was a nice break away from the city which the rest of our medical stay was in. We will definitely be back!

Disliked: Staff & service
Terrible experience! Staff not helpful in aiding to keep us in the same room for two nights even though the room we stayed in the first night was avail and cheaper! Fire alarm went off at 5:50 in the morning. Fire dept showed up 20 minutes later and told me the alarm is not connected to the fire house. Scary!
