Bergundy carpet?
The location is excellent. Our 1 bedroom suite was spacious enough but had dated bergundy carpet and dilapidated fixtures. The carpet smelled and we had to open the sliders to air it out. The kids enjoyed the pool. The breakfast is incredible, with many choices. If the room was updated this would be 5 stars.

This is a lovely hotel, very close to the Marina and 10min walk to the beach and multiple restaurants. The sunbeds go very quickly but there is lots of grass area to relax on with towels provided by the hotel. The rooms were spacious and cleaned everyday. I recommend asking for floor 6 when booking so you don’t get disturbed by noise from the floor above.

The room accommodations , were not good. The room washroom was old, they have a kids slide, that was very dangerous. Many people complained as there kids got injured. As one parent complained there daughter was injured, I also complained . It is only a matter of time before there is law suite against this resort because of kids getting injured.

Overall, this was a pleasant experience and nice atmosphere by the water and rock/sand inlet. The big slide in the kiddie pool is extremely dangerous and should probably be shut down. My son’s and other kids went airborne and slammed into the bottom of the slide. Elevators are small and back up. The restaurant on the first floor had a nice buffet with good food and drinks.

We really enjoyed our stay at Vila Gale. Was family friendly and the pool was a nice amenity after a hot day of touring. We had plenty of room for our family and the sea view and balcony were ideal. Walkable to shops and restaurants especially at the marina.

Ticked all the boxes for us!
We had an absolutely lovely time, the hotel is situated perfectly near the ocean (our room had an incredible ocean view), walking distance from the marina, the city center (with plenty of restaurants, pharmacies, shops and bars) and tourist attractions nearby. The staff were so friendly, welcoming and generous- especially with my children. The kid's entertainers were amazing and my daughter straight away joined in on the fun. The swimming pools were clean and a perfect temperature. Importantly for me, the hotel capacity was perfect for that "not too jam packed" feel. There was plenty of room for all, we always found a spot by the pool for instance. The breakfast buffet was also very nice, my one request would be to please offer oat milk in future - I'm lactose intolerant and can't stand soy milk but it was the only alternative to cow's milk. Otherwise an excellent stay and we cant wait to return.

Good hotel but dirty pool
Hotel was good and the staff really friendly. The only thing that disappointed was the cleanliness of the swimming pool. There was a lot of ducks that seemed to stay on site that used the pool, and defecated in the pool. I had to scoop duck poo out of the pool several times and on the water you could see poo at the bottom of the pool and bits through the water when swimming. It was pretty off putting and unhygienic.

This is a family friendly hotel. Beautiful grounds and lovely pool. Super busy breakfast buffet but lots of options. Bed was a bit hard for me but that’s just my personal preference. Easy walk to the town. Overall I had an excellent experience and I highly recommend!

This is a great spot to stay in a quiet part of Cascais yet very close to everything. It is a second time staying there. It worked perfectly for the last night or 2 in Portugal before flying out of Lisbon.

Review of Vila Gale Cascais - April 2024 Our stay at Vila Gale Cascais in April 2024 was a mixed experience, deserving a rating of seven out of ten. Here’s a summary of the positives and negatives: Pros: * Location: The hotel is conveniently located near the marina and shopping areas in a safe neighborhood. * Amenities and Services: The staff was welcoming, and free ample parking was a significant convenience. * Room and View: The room was beautifully decorated with an excellent view of the marina and pool area. Cons: * Room Security: The safe was broken, which made us hesitant to have our room cleaned as we couldn't secure our valuables. * Electricity Usage: The need to keep a key card in a slot to power the room was inconvenient, especially for charging devices. * Dining Experience: Both the Italian buffet dinner and breakfast were underwhelming. * Room Amenities: The absence of a coffee machine and ironing facilities was a minor inconvenience. Conclusion: While Vila Gale Cascais offers great location and friendly service, it falls short in room security, power management, and food quality. We stayed here for 9 nights April 2024. Perfect location, walkable to many fun places nice restaurants, lots of attractions and even good 15-20 mins walk to downtown Cascais. Hotel itself was very clean,buffet breakfast was amazing, lots of options and best part was the very helpful staff. We stayed with our kids and they loved the Easter activities. Would highly recommend this hotel.
