A lot of money has spent on this property and mostly it's been very well spent. The hotel is very conveniently located next to Intendente metro station. It's not the prettiest part of Lisbon, but it feels mostly safe.
The biggest issue I had with my stay was how terrible the welcome was. The reception staff Goncalo and another lady were utterly disinterested. No "hello", no "welcome", a few grunts to say "I need your passport" not even a please! Utterly unbelievable to me that you would spend that much on a hotel and have such horrid reception staff. Sadly the bad attitude coloured everything else.
The room was beautiful. Well appointed, plenty of drinking water, coffee machine etc.
There were some maintenance issues, the coffee machine was leaking, the shower drain was slow causing overflow into the room, a chair was cracked. Small stuff that is easily sorted.
The hotel sits right on top of the Metro and you can hear the distant rumble of the trains. It's not a deal breaker, but earplugs might help light sleepers.
Overall, I would be happy to stay here again, subject to the re-training/replacement of the staff.
