Sad to see such a once iconic busy hotel in such a state. Southport as a whole looks really grim now sadly. Management should at least attempt to clean the carpets and make the place a little more welcoming. If you’ve only 1 bar at least have its beers available too. Should say on website, bedroom overlooks a nightclub open till 4.00 am, kinda info you want before booking for the night. RIP Scarisbrick hotel, you were fun.

I stay here often. It is a big, old hotel. To be fair Britannia are carrying out subtle renovations. The desk staff are superb, especially Sue and Nat.

It's ok but...

Just a reminder to you that this is a city centre hotel. I haven't had a night yet that wasn't accompanied by loud music until 3 a.m. or noisy early wakers at 5.30 a.m. If these things don't trouble you and you don't mind being very, very warm then you'll be fine.
