Small and cosy
Las Mariopas is a small budget family run hotel. It is set back of a busy road but does not cause a problem. It has a good pool and garden area. Noise can be a issue if you have noisy neighbours. It is a good location if you don't want the noise and night life of Lloret town centre which is a 15 minute walk away. It is close to local supermarkets and shops.

Some good points, some bad points, great price
A rather mixed experience but can't complain for the price... Good points were friendly staff (family owned and run);reasonable temperature in apartment (other reviews say no a/c but it was 35C most days but the apartment was fine). The main bad point was that the walls are paper-thin; if you get a noisy neighbour than you might not get much sleep.

Wish we had more days there
Stayed for 5 days at the Bennington of June. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. Gave us information about the local area and when we asked about a typical historic place to visit they suggested a stunning medieval town an hour away. The owner speaks many languages and is always happy to help. Francisco in the bar is such a carachter; our kids grew very fond of him. The apartment itself was specious with brand new bathroom and a lovely balcony overlooking the pool. The sofa bed transformed into two separate single beds which were very comfortable. The kitchen area has all we needed to cook our own meals, just needs updating but we were told that after doing new bathrooms this year, they will do kitchens up next year. The pool was super clean and open from 9am to 9pm. You can walk to the nearest beach which is about 10 minutes away otherwise there are many little coves to discover which are a few minutes drive then a short walk down hill. Couldn't fault the area or accommodation. It's a place with options and you can make it as fun/cheap/healthy/busy/quiet as you like. Nearby Llore De Mar isn't our thing but it was fun to see and it's certainly a place for fun for young people.

Las Mariposas stay
Good location if you want beach nearby, shops and some quiet time (depends on people staying as some of them can be noisy after night out), bit difficult with kids though as not easy access (three sets of stairs). Room we stayed (1 bedroom apartment) was clean and cosy, only disadvantage was smokers as all smoke was coming through open windows and previous guests have been smokers as all living area smelled of smoke (smell disappeared after two days as we were cooking quiet a lot). Good tv programmes, loads of different channels in many languages.

I spend in this apartments 6 nights with my girlfriend. It is really nice place to stay. I is quite good location, 10 min to beach and 15 min to the center of Lloret. This apartments is also, clean, have good services, and big positive is good price. I can recommended this apartments.

After arriving at the hotel we were told are requests were not recieved, the room was full of pet hairs, the building is very tired and in need of upgrading, it would be a very nice place to stay if a bit of money was spent, i was not very happy at all at the cleanliness of the rooms and the place has a very bad problems with ants, they are every were!! After arriving home i realizes i had been bit to death by fleas!! i'm not very happy at all! So if you decide to go to mariposas beware!! take ant powder and check the room before you accept the key!

excelent value for money. it was a little out of the centre but this isnt a problem as you know this when you book,but it is worth the 15 mins walk.would go back again for the value for money.the rooms have all you need,and are well equiped.the pool and hotel are just what you need if your looking for a good base for your holiday in llorette.

Arrived on a hot sticky night in July. Disappointed when we walked into rooms. Dimly lit and old dated furniture. Woke up following morning to find a beautiful pool area and with sunlight coming in the rooms they seemed 10 times better. Spent days round the pool and nights round the bars so you dont take any notice of the dim lights in the rooms. All in all excellent value for money. Be aware if arriving in the wee hours first impressions arn't everything

When we booked the apartment there was nothing in the information that there was no cleaners to cleen the rooms untill you vacate it, they did not change the towels untill the 4th day of your stay and then you had to leave them outside your door, and they did not change the sheets untill you had been there a week and then you had to leave them outside your door. The staff were very rude and not helpful at all and everything seemed to be to much like hard work when you tried to speak to them . When we tried to extend our rooms because the flights had been cancelled they put the prices of the rooms up, The rooms were dirty and very scruffy looking and there was holes in the curtains and cracks in the bathroom tiles.

last minute deal very good price. would have payed more.basic apartment.nice pool. hard to find just before camping site on your right,up a small steep hill. only a 10 min. walk into town.especially good for families. supermarket just 3 mins away.

Perfect for a relaxing week
Basic, but clean apartments in Fenals area, about 15-20 minutes walk to main resort of Lloret. Nice apartment overlooking pool. Good service from staff. Pool emptied and cleaned each night. Quiet area with local bars, restaurants and shops within short walking distance. Fenals beach smaller than Lloret - neither are sandy beaches, but still nice. Take a boat trip from the beach to surrounding areas - Tossa De Mar was lovely. Would stay at apartments again.

Great hotel for the price
We wanted a cheap week away so booked the Mariposas hotel, for the money that we paid this was a great hotel, has a very nice pool and is within walking distance of the beach, bars and restaurants but far enough away that you dont hear the noise of the bars and clubs at night. No entertainment at the hotel but if you just want a place to sleep and a nice pool this hotel is great.

Perfect in high season
The apartments are 15-20 minutes walk from the main resort and 15 minutes to fenels beach. Shops, bars and eateries are all close by. The staff are cheerful and efficient. The pool is lovely and it is perfect for those wanting a peaceful, relaxing holiday. This is partifularly so because the main resort is like a madhouse in high season so you wouldn't get much sleep there. I would recommend these apartments and will stay there again. Also the local restaurants are much cheaper than those near fenels beach and in the centre. The apartments were also well equiped and clean.

Only one star?
Mariposas is a low-priced one star hotel but has all most people want. 100 euros CASH deposit needed on arrival which is returned at end of stay. The main room is fairly spacious with a separate bedroom. 2 single beds. Also a comfortable sofa which converts into 2 more single beds. Bath/shower/toilet. Kitchenette has 2 rings, a microwave, toaster and a fridge. Also enough crockery, utensils, pots and pans (and a kettle), etc for 4 people to eat in if you do not want to eat at the cafe downstairs or one of the many nearby eateries. 3 different name supermarkets within several minutes walk. Balcony overlooking swimming pool (with separate shallow part for youngsters) with sunbeds. TV in room with BBC1, BBC2, ITV, C4 and all variations including Film Four. Football and netball pitch also. The good Fenals beach is 10-15 minutes walk away and Lloret centre which also has a good beach is 20-25 minutes walk away. Bus stops five minutes walk away to Blanes or Lloret (and on to Tossa, Girona, Barcelona). Location is quiet at night. The hotel is not suitable for wheelchair users. 17 steps to reach lobby (7,4,4,1,1). Lift (4 floors). Room does not provide soap or shampoo. No telephone. No airconditioning or radiators. Mop, bucket, broom as maid service (for me) was once a week. On my own, I got 2 large towels and various small ones. Early check-in OK. A good place for families or singles.
