The property is in an old building, but very well maintained very friendly staff and helpful. The cleanliness of the rooms. I would not call it a continental breakfast more of a something to eat in the morning, but the coffee was good and they did have milk and orange juice.

Uncomfortable and not sound insulated
Hotel was clean and was greeted nicely. Bed was extremely uncomfortable, hard wood frame with 3 inch thick hard mattress, if all the beds are like this I recommend not staying at this hotel. Walls are paper thin, you won’t sleep if your neighbors are awake.

Good service at City London Hotel
One night stay for sightseeing and the theatre. Found easily,staff very friendly (free fruit, sweets, biscuits and water offered when arrived). Room was small but had everything you could need, including fridge and hairdryer. Bathroom was brand new and very clean. Slept well, pillows could be a bit deeper. Good choice at breakfast. Few signs would be good as unaware there were baked beans until saw someone had them. Also put warm milk in my son's cereal! All in all good hotel, quiet location useful for Borough market and good travel links. Would stay again

Delightfully quaint, tiny, impeccably maintained, perfectly located when needing to be in Southwark, near borough market, or within reach of the London Underground. Gave me what I needed for my busy days surrounding hardcore sleep hours. Absolutely silent at night. I will certainly return.

The Employees at the front desk were very friendly and nice! The cleaning lady was very nice and the lady in the breakfast room was very nice as well!! The room was perfect with clean shower and bathroom plus a very comfortable bed. There was 2 free water bottles and cookies and tea as well. A kettle for tea and a hair dryer as well plus an iron to iron your clothes.A heater as well and an air conditioner! Pretty much all that you need for a single / double room. I will definitely come back to this hotel! 💙💙💙💙

We absolutely adored our stay at the City London Hotel! The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and comfortable, especially during our unexpected early check-in due to an emergency. They truly brightened our day with thoughtful touches like roses, candies, and complimentary daily breakfast. Even though the hotel was undergoing renovations, any noise was kept strictly to business hours and never went beyond the quiet hours, which we appreciated. We can't wait to return and see all the exciting updates they've made to the facilities! Highly recommend this hotel for both its warmth and attentiveness.

Great location, wonderful staff!
Wonderful stay at a wonderful hotel! This hotel was more in-town than ANY similarly priced air bnb we could find. We were pleasantly surprised to get to the hotel at 10pm and be offered cold water bottles, cookies, fruit punch, fresh apples and oranges, and smiles from Mohammed and his colleague :) very kind and hospitable people who made us feel very welcome and taken care of. The bathroom was squeaky clean and while the room was small, it had everything we need including a mini fridge to keep our water cold. Fresh towels daily and fresh fruit restocked in the room! It was only a 8ish minute walk from Waterloo underground station which was quite convenient. Would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a good price, and very welcoming staff. Also - continental breakfast was INCLUDED which for some isn't much, but in an expensive country like England, it went a long way for us, and it was the only hotel we stayed in that included it in the cost of the booking. 10/10 would stay here again. Thank you!
