Check in was busy but the queue moved fairly quickly. I asked for a quiet room and although it was away from the road, there was noise from an air conditioning unit. When I got to my room the tv did not work, after a call to reception the issue was resolved by one of the maintenance team but it was a bit of an inconvenience

Staff were really friendly and the hotel is modern and clean. bottle of water and chocolate was a lovely touch! Only downside was noise from other rooms (can hear people talking) and my door rattled every time someone else closed theirs.

As always came up to expectations. Was unhappy with room on first night. (Sofa bed uncomfortable.) Staff willingly, pleasantly and helpfully changed us to another room. Very happy with second room. Had most contact with the porters. Each and every one very helpful, very polite and a pleasure to meet

Clean room although mould in several areas on the bathroom. Shower had very low water pressure meaning washing hair was not easy. Only 2 lifts working so sometimes had to wait 20 mins for a lift - not good enough for a wheelchair user. We had to use a different lift and then drag ourselves up the stairs on two occasions.

We were excited to stay at a prestigious London Hotel.. However the Strand Palace is pretty much a TravelLodge in disguise.. Breakfast is expensive, pretty poor and non refundable. Walk out to the street, turn left and two doors down you can find a wonderful cafe with what looked like a fantastic breakfast for less...
