No place to park near the hotel, had to park two blocks away ini a parking garage and walk to the hotel. Incredibly noisy due to the restaurant/bar across the street playing music very loudly until after 9 pm. No air conditining in the room, only heating. On a more positive note, the hotel staff were all very polite and helpful. the hotel is right on the beach so immediate access to the beach. But Venice beach is a kind of sleazy area with lots fo questionable vendors selling things from a table along the boardwalk.

Should have realised when entering the room - being given complimentary air plugs. Place was very noisey. Had to leave a day early as couldn’t put up with it any more. Didnt feel the safest place out there.

Hotel was clean and safe. Simple, no frills. Professional staff. There are no key cards provided. Receptionist wrote codes on a piece of paper for front door access and room access. Great partial views of the ocean from the room. Very busy bustling part of the boardwalk. Lots of foot traffic. Lots of restaurants and bars nearby. Bed in the room has a full-size mattress on a platform frame. Small tv- has cable channels. Room has a table with 2 chairs, microwave, full size refrigerator/freezer, steamer, standing fan and a space heater. It was chilly weather. No central heat. Bathroom was cold. Room door does not have a peep-hole. There was damage to the wall and the bathroom ceiling. Shower is covered with a hanging fabric shower curtain. Loud music plays at the restaurant/club directly beside the hotel. Hotel provides disposable earplugs in the room. Huge public parking lot is directly across from hotel. Very reasonable flat rate for visitors until 10PM. No overnight parking allowed. There is lots of homelessness in the surrounding areas. There are tarps and rolling carts, and tents. People are sleeping in the corners of the public parking lot, sleeping at the public restroom areas; and on the beach. There are cleaning crews and safety teams daily on the boardwalk in the early mornings. There is lots of despair. It is very sad.

My wife and i had a great experience here. Yes, the building looks old but it is over 100 years old. My wife is a light sleeper and we were on the south side, right next to the bar next door but the windows kept out much of the noise and the restaurant closed at around 9pm so unless you're going to bed super early, things should be quiet enough. Walls may be thin though. I think we heard the next door guest talk on his phone pretty clearly but that was just once. Cant beat the view and access to the beach. Share ebikes and escooters are abundant but not allowed on the venice side of the boardwalk. I'm not sure if we'd stay here if we didn't receive a good deal but we definitely did not have a bad experience. Just remember, its an old (historic) building 😉

Overall experience was great with the hotel. It’s in a great location and there is a lot of stuff to do in walking distance. Unfortunately the bed was extremely uncomfortable in the room.

For the money, this was a great value! We had a small beach view but the fog was in and we couldn't see the ocean. The parking was a pain is why I didn't give five stars.
