Comfortable and accommodating
We needed a one night stay while visiting my daughter in college. The room was very spacious and had a lot of space to relax. I was actually surprised at how big the couch space was! I only took one star off because we had to ask for some basic things to be brought to our room. Our room did not have a trash can in the bathroom or room. Also, the coffee supply only had two creamers, so when my husband and I wanted a couple cups of coffee, we had to go get more cream from the front desk. Everyone was very helpful. Bed was comfortable and cookies were great!

I enjoyed my stay here, room was safe, quiet and very friendly staff. Only gripe would be hot water was not the best, and satellite tv would cut off every 40 seconds making watching tv till you fell asleep impossible, but who really cares if you are in LA to see the sites.

The staff was rude and unaccommodating. I had a room with my girls, and a friend of the family, who is a male, had a room. It was booked by his Aunt, but since he was 18, they would not allow him to check-in. We waited for hours for them to fix the reservation only for the manager to go on lunch break. It was late, we were exhausted. We offered my 22 year-old to be added so he could check-in. They did not help nor did they care. He ended up sleeping on the floor in our room for 2 nights. The manager didn't even check back with us to fix the reservation. I have stayed here 4 times and this is the last time I will ever stay here. Floors were dirty, pillow case had a red stain. Just horrible.

Good thing they have great free cookies
Service at check-in was great. However I got to the room and found a used coffee pod in the coffee maker either from previous guest or cleaning staff. Bathroom floor appeared as it was not mopped and counters were not clean. It’s a great thing I carry Lysol wipes so I cleaned my whole room and asked for new sheets which I played over the bed at night. So after doing some sightseeing I get back to the room at 11:30 pm. Take off my shoes and find the carpet on one side of the bed near the wall that lines the bathroom was sopping wet. I used the room phone to contact front desk to report the issue and was asked to hold. I stayed on hold for 7 minutes and was hung up on while on hold. I called back and was immediately hung up on. I called a third time and finally got through and was told the maintenance crew left for the night and they would have someone come and inspect I. The morning. So at 10 am as I was getting ready to leave I checked with front desk to make sure it was noted down to find out it was not. Someone did come up right away and they found the shower valve was broken behind the shower wall and leaking causing it to flood underneath the carpet. The maintenance men were great and got it fixed but room still smelled like wet carpet for remainder of the stay. I did receive breakfast buffet vouchers for the inconvenience but only after my boyfriend asked for it. We were never offered a room change and we had paid for the high floors which was supposed to be an upgrade.

Not What I was Expecting
Convenient location, easy access, easy ingress & egress. Anything required from the front desk took forever. Checking in was a very long process with only one person at the front desk and a second person looking over the shoulder of the one person that was there. Same thing when requesting a late check out and checking out. I usually stay at Cambria and checking in and out is a breeze. I went to shower and there was no shower body gel. A text came to me asking if everything was OK and i replied back about the shower gel. Person said they would take care of it and never did. Also, there was a very strong odor coming out of the bathroom sink and the television kept losing connection. I have stayed at Double Tree hotels in other cities, such as New Orleans, and the hotel was much nicer with much better service. This is why I decided to try Double Tree in El Segundo instead of Cambria. Looks like I will be staying at Cambria next time.

Property is definitely very good value for the money. And staff are very friendly. I’d stay again. No problem. However, There are some things that need improvement right away. Dirty carpet. Unable to slide sliding bathroom door got stuck in it. Pillows are old. Shower curtains are old. Parking is very limited.

Elevator stopped at one point, could hit numbers but thank goodness the door opened. Tub drained poorly. One pillow had a stain that should have been washed out; makes me think they didn’t bother to clean the room before hand. Ice machine on floor didn’t work
