Have stayed at Glendale hotel multiple times. Have always had a positive experience. On this occasion, we arrived to find the reception desk barricaded up with plastic plants, and a video check-in agent to greet us. No humans to interact with in person. We booked the Romance room, as with our previous stays, but got the next door room to the one we've had previously. Bath was smaller and actually a tight fit for me and my wife, we had a flood light in the car park shining super bright into our room 24/7, even with curtains closed, it beamed around the edges like sunlight, all night. On final night of stay, fire alarm went off due to the next room lighting candles around their (bigger!) bath, which triggered the fire alarms. It went off 5 or 6 times between 10pm and 2:30am, waking us each time. We spoke to remove video reception person who said she could not "see it on her system" but we got a housekeeping person who was on site to hear it and report it to the remote reception with us. We recorded it on our phone a couple of times. Remote video reception person gave us email address to email and complain to management and request refund for that night, then management failed to respond to 5 emails I sent. Escalated through expedia and they gave me a good will payment, but hotel have STILL not responded to anything, other than denying the incident ever happened to Expedia, but they will not talk directly to me. We have it on audio recording, and their staff heard it. AVOID!
