This hotel is very close to Universal Studios and the shuttle was certainly nice, but that is where the positives end.
I stayed for two nights and was charged the room+tax (~$600.00) to my debit card a day before arriving. This has not happened at other hotels, all is placed on hold the day of check-in. Odd as it was, I thought they would only then place a hold for the $200 incidentals.
I checked my bank account the next day and there was a pending charge for ~$800, not $200. So they charged the room fee and deposit again. This was on top of the already charged $600. This left my account overdrawn as I was running on a super tight budget. I was therefore unable to purchase anything at Universal and had to rely on less than $50 spare cash to buy food.
I did order food at the restaurant which put me $69 over the $200 deposit after parking etc. I had to rely on my wife's credit card to pay that (embarrassing).
The extra room charge did fall off and the correct $200 was posted after two days. I also noticed that they charged $1 and $68 dollars to my wife's credit card; instead of simply $69. The $69 was posted/cleared on that card the next day, but they still left the charge for $68 pending.
These were two different banks’. So regardless of payment method credit or debit, this hotel will place twice the amount of holds and dollar amounts on your account. Avoid this hotel altogether until they can get their accounting fixed. The staff was rude and downright confrontational.
