Close to universal studios, excellent and friendly staff. Only downside is close to highway so noisy if balcony door open and air conditioning unit a bit noisy but I still highly recommend.

Beds very comfortable. Older hotel but clean. Coffee maker broken and made a mess. Parking fee $40 per day too much on top of room rate. Ran out of tp. Staff relatively friendly yet seemed uncaring. Would NOT stay again at the price

Overall our stay at the hotel was lovely. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The pool was great. The restaurant had excellent food. The staff at both the hotel and restaurant were very hospitable. The proximity to Universal is less than a ten minute drive and the trolley was super convenient. My only complaint was that I was charged with additional fees (worker protection and environmental) upon checkout that were no divulged by either Expedia or the hotel upon check in. Given that I was under the impression I had fully prepaid I was very disappointed. After escalating to hotel management and Expedia the fees have been agreed to be credited which I appreciate. Overall it’s a lovely property and I would stay again without a buyer beware to be careful when booking and review your invoice in detail.

NOT ADA FRIENDLY!!!
For a luxury hotel, we were not impressed. Our room was supposed to be ADA, however the bathroom was long and narrow which does not work at all for a wheelchair. The outside area in front of the room was very loud and echoey. Starting at 7am, laughing and yelling children and very loud adults started walking by, waking all of us up. This went on the rest of the morning and into the evening, constantly startling our dog. Then people complained that our dog barked so WE got called. Highly frustrating.

Great hotel and free shuttle to universal studios. Pool is a good size and an adult only hot tub is a nice touch. Was a little noisy as right next to a main road so couldn’t enjoy the balcony space, walls are also thin so could hear everyone walking up and down the corridor but clean and comfortable rooms with lots of available parking onsite. Great restaurant although on the higher end of a budget, friendly and polite staff.

Good for a quick stay
This is a well renovated hotel near Universal Studios. It was perfect for my stay during the weekend. I would recommend this place because of the prices being very comparable to those around it, yet it has nicer amenities than those around it, such as a hot tub. There is parking on the premises and you do have to pay for it (expected in an area like this). Nearby lots of attractions.

If you have to stay in the Valley, cuz your family is nearby, then The Garland Hotel in North Hollywood is the only resort to holiday in. Great sunny afternoons at the pool. Great workouts out at the lovely gym. Fabulous help from Michael or Lester at the pool bar...and great food at the Front Yard restaurant. Don't forget the lovely checkin staff, wonderful nocturnal vocal music in the hotel garden. However, obviously avoid staying at the Garland Hotel if the plan is just to go to Universal City; you can do that from anywhere in the better parts of LA, like Bev Hills, West Hollywood, Santa Monica, et al. But if ya wanna have a relaxing week with nearby family and/or friends, stay at the Garland. Avoid the gift shop--unless you forgot to bring decent hand lotion--cuz there's nothin' more then a a small handful of minimal dessert plates as a guest gift for a friend's Tuesday evening dinner. For anything else to buy, there are so much better stores nearby, like the Greenwood Shop on Ventura Place. And, for nighttime snack food, don't forget the 2 or 3 7/11's around the block for your Diet Dr. Pepper and your Almond Joy bar to swallow while you're watching "Nobody Wants This" on Netflix on your large TV in that beautiful room while you're on that comfy bed. You know, the one that someone like Norma will clean to a tee each day!
