I loved that this location is walking distance from the cruise port but the hotel room walls are very thin and our neighbors were banging on the wall and screaming because they could hear us packing our stuff up to leave. We could hear the people through the wall when they were socializing and watching tv but this did not cause us to yell and scream at them.
Great for a tour or a drink but cabins and bathrooms in very bad shape rusting, flaking. Staff doing their best but ship is 90 years old and impossible to maintain. Also a hike from anything else interesting. She is a magnificent ship from another era but very hard to make it into a workable hotel. My parents crossed the Atlantic on it twice! And I was aboard as a child in 1955
If you ever wanted to spend a night at a museum, this is your place. The ship is very interesting and all my interactions with staff have all been great. The food at the restaurant has been particularly wonderful. On the down side, there is no thermostats or coffee makers in the rooms.
We absolutely love staying here. 4th or 5th time.
Kids had thier own suite about 5 cabins away. They loved the night time ghost tour.
Having a relaxing cocktail at Observation Lounge was so so relaxing.
If you live on Catalina, and occasionally miss the boat home, this is a great place to stay for the nite! It’s a little more expensive, but it’s a pleasant walk to the Catalina Express Terminal, so you avoid further taxi/Uber expenses.
Very nostalgic clean and comfortable we stayed the night before our cruise very convenient as it’s only a quick walk across the parking lot to board the ship. It in its self was a cool experience. Glad we stayed.
we enjoyed our stay in one of the original 1930's wood panel cabin on board this famous ocean liner. beds were very comfortable, bathroom was tight...its a ship and chelsea's chowder house was excellent.
The ship is a living museum transporting us to a time more gracious and elegant. The staff was accomodating and efficient. The dinner at The Chowder was fantastic! Shout out to the chef.
The ensuite bathroom was understandably dated, adding to the charm, but the toilet was so lpw that I found it very difficult to use. There were much more accessible washrooms in the public areas of the ship.
We thoroughly enjoyed the midnight ghost walk, as well as the miniature ship displays.

We stayed here for a weekend to celebrate a birthday with a couple family members who also stayed at the property and overall it was an ok stay. There is plenty to do off the ship across the bridge and the free bus transport that was provided was convenient. The ship itself has cool things to do during the day and has food options during the day (buffet breakfast was great!) but if you're looking for late night eats you'll be out of luck except for the vending machines throughout the room corridors. We stayed here for the spook factor and just to be amongst a little piece of history and get a feel for what it may have been like staying on a ship, it was definitely fun to explore! The room was nice and far more spacious than expected, not many amenities included but it was clean with comfy beds. The observation bar had some great holiday drinks and gave us something relaxing to do on our first night in. Its an old ship so our expectations weren't super high but we were pleasantly surprised and it was just cool waking up overlooking the water, would definitely stay again someday.
My wife and I stayed at the Queen Mary the night before our Carnival cruise. We took the opportunity to take one of the tours that was offered, but also did a lot of exploring on our own. The staff were very knowledgeable and friendly. Our overall experience was excellent and we will stay there again!
This was the most “fun” hotel we ever stayed in. Lots of interesting areas of the ship to explore. It really is a museum. We had an excellent late lunch on board and coffee at the cafe. The staff were great and went out of their way to be hospitable.
While this is an older ship we were still happy with the experience. Lots to see. Seeing all the info about the ship.

We’re history buffs and we really enjoyed touring the Queen Mary and seeing her unique design elements. The shops offer some really fun and unique items, and the food was really good. Our only complaint as older people is a lack of seating to help us manage the long distances involved in making our way around the boat. A second elevator would also be appreciated.
