This luxury house is situated beside the 18th green and 2 mins stroll to the Vila Sol resort clubhouse /course & tennis courts. The house has a communal superb pool and an upstairs bedroom overlooks the 18th green. The adjacent new hotel has all the facilities expected of a 5* resort. The Portuguese Open has twice been held at Vila Sol Resort.. Vilamoura is 8-10 mins drive where there are several renowned golf courses - Old Course, Millennium, Ocean, Pinhal and Victoria Course. A water park is a 5 minute drive from the house. At the entrance of Vila Sol resort - walking distance from the house - are bars/pubs, an Italian Restaurant, a patisserie and small shop. The nearest beach is a 5 minute drive away. There is an excellent large supermarket in Almancil only a 5 minute drive from the house.

Lazy Hosts
We unfortunately stayed here recently. We had problems with the property from the minute we arrived until we left. On arrival we couldn’t unlock the door with the key provided. In blistering heat we stood for almost an hour trying. After contacting the host, I was sent a video showing me how to unlock a door. It didn’t work. We had to go and wait at the nearby hotel for someone to come out and unlock the door. Evidently there is a problem with the door depending on which key is used to lock it. As the cleaners had been in (‘apparently they had’) the door wouldn’t unlock for us. Eventually this was sorted. On first look around the property we were disappointed with the state of repair, including loose light fittings with exposed holes on the ceiling and door handles hanging off the doors. We were also shocked by the basement room. The room was pretty dingy and smelly, definitely not cleaned. We were unaware that 1 room was in the basement but this was our error. The mattress topper had a large urine stain on it. The host agreed to send the cleaners and maintenance in. The cleaners came back and removed the mattress topper but this left a really uncomfortable mattress with the springs poking through. I have videos and pictures of all of these faults. Some of the property issues were sorted but the basement was not cleaned, bathroom door locks were not fixed, mattress topper not replaced until day 5 and cooker hob not working fully and oven trips electric every few minutes.

Positives Large overall size. Plenty of room for 3 adult couples. Plenty of towels Plenty of pans Nespresso machine Hand soap Washing up liquid. Nice and cool when required. Cons. Basic items which would help were missing …Kitchen condiments- salt pepper. Dishwasher tablets, Foil. Bin bags. Light doesn’t work in toilet Tired worn items with holes in..cover for sun bed, towels and tea towels. Hair dryer faulty. Door handles failing (still), main bedroom falls off completely and bruised my wife’s foot! Lots of handles are coming away from the doors. Locks on main bathroom do not work Clothes airer falling apart. No tennis equipment but access to the nice courts (even really cheap paddle rackets would have been great to borrow) This holiday home could be amazing, don’t get me wrong, we had a lovely time, however we don’t feel the exceptional rating it has received was accurate for our expectations (they are old reviews). We always use self catering accommodation so have lots to compare to. The position of the apartment is handy, the access to the pool area is really good, there is parking nearby but if you were not physically fit a big food shop would have been more challenging. The apartment has access to 2 really nice tennis courts, however there is no tennis equipment whatsoever at the apartment, some really basic rackets and balls would’ve made quite a bit of a difference to our holiday. Property as described and communication with owner was great - including a late notice early check-in. Area is very good for families - particularly anyone with young children. It is a bit away from restaurants and shops etc although there are a few on the complex. Taxis and Ubers are plentiful though and good value. Like most rentals a few very minor issues could do with attention but all in all excellent - would certainly stay again if in the area.

Needs updating
Thank you for allowing us to stay however we have some feedback we hope is taken constructively. We were disappointed to find on arrival that the property wasn’t very clean, this resulted in 2hrs cleaning preparing for the arrival of other family members. The fridge had been left off as had the freezer so this also required us cleaning it. We had to go out and buy candles and air fresheners due to their being a musty smell. We noticed the downstairs AC wasn’t working and upon raising this it was already apparent, I believe provisions such as a fan could have been made with the AC knowingly not working, this was slightly frustrating. We found the curtains dirty and many marks along the walls and common areas which didn’t give the property a welcome feel. Previous complaints hadn’t been rectified such as the rear patio was full of dirt and a broken chair left in the corner. Overall the location is great and the pool was lovely, but the property was tired and felt like it needed some much needed TLC. The furniture is basic and serves its purpose but it definitely needs an update. Other issues were light fittings hanging from the ceiling showing exposed wiring, master bedroom and downstairs bedroom door handles loose and therefore could not shut as you could get locked in. Only 1 pillow per person in each bedroom, spares could be provided. 3 Sun loungers but only one with a cushion. Patio chairs all dirty and had to be wiped down.

Return to Vila Sol
We have stayed at Vila Sol around 15 times now but this was a first for us staying at Sunset Villas. Pros : The accomodation was clean, spacious and the Villa was in close proximity to the pool area. We know the local area well & found it wasn’t too far to walk to the local shops and restaurants. Ubers are plentiful, easy & cheap if travelling further afield to the marina . Cons : The patio area outside felt tired. Mis matched, worn & dirty loungers, one with padded cushions others without . One chair at the dining table had a broken arm. (There are no loungers or parasols at the pool area at this complex so these were the only loungers) . We had a few issues with hot water but managed to get agent out to sort. No mid stay clean so tricky trying to wash bed sheets etc . Although it was clear from info in listing description, it is worth noting that the 3rd bedroom is in the apartment basement so can seem quite far away from main bedrooms upstairs. Just worth considering if travelling with younger children ….. All in all, we had a lovely holiday.

Excellent spot with pool view
Great property for a family of up to 6 people. One double bedroom is in the basement but spacious. Balconies are a good size and perfect for sunbathing or chilling out with a glass of wine in the evenings. Car hire makes life easier to get to but taxis are not overly expensive to the beach or shops.

Beautiful house in great location
The house upon arrival was spotless and very spacious, everything you needed was on hand. The golf club beside was very nice serving a beautiful lunch. Only a few minutes drive from gorgeous beaches and the fashionable town of Vilamoura . two superb restaurants nearby called diplomatico and La Cabane In quarteira serving delicious local produce!! would recommend to anyone!!

Superbes vacances, magnifique location
Nous avons passé une semaine durant le mois d'août 2024. La location était conforme à la description. La maison se trouve dans une structure très calme, très bien entretenue avec une piscine splendide. Les maisons sont très bien conçues, et les terrasses donnent directement sur la piscine. Nous avons passé de magnifiques vacances. Le propriétaire a été toujours disponible pour répondre à nos questions. Nous le recommandons.

Family summer vacations
The property is nice and spacious and well located if you have car to move around. The pool is nice, even not that big but there aren't too many people using it at the same time The cleanliness should be improved, the air conditioning is not working on the bedrooms even after complaining about it, we arrived at we promptly needed to call the manager to open the water that was closed and we didn't had any way to open it ourselves, some problems also with the water heater for the baths...the house has a lot more potencial to provide an excellent vacations without creating any stress at the property arrival.

Muito bem localizada, com excelentes condições e bem equipada, pequenas melhorias que podem ser feitas, espelho no WC do quarto de baixo e local para colocar produtos de higiene pessoais. Outra melhoria que podem fazer é colocar mais toalhas, porque uma por pessoa é não é suficiente. Por fim o facto de não ter nenhum canal de televisão português. Unicamente críticas construtivas, para a estadia ser memorável. Iremos voltar certamente.

Bis auf ein paar Kleinigkeiten wirklich "Mega" und zu empfehlen!
Also wir waren von 9-16.9.18 dort und es war einfach toll. Der Vermieter ist sehr freundlich und antwortete stets auf Fragen und hat sich wirklich "Online" gut um uns gekümmert. Das Haus ist Top eingerichtet und es mangelt an fast nichts. Gepflegt und sauber, wie es sein soll. Von der Terrasse aus sind es gerade mal 10 Schritte und man ist am Pool. Ob es zu einem anderen Zeitpunkt dort voller ist, weiß ich nicht, aber nun war es so das dort wenig betrieb war und wir den Pool meist für uns hatten, was sehr angenehm war. Auch die Anlage generell ist Top gepflegt, das wohl daran liegt das es zu einem Golf Resort gehört. Einkaufmöglichkeiten, Restaurants und auch der Strand sind alles in maximal 10-15 Minuten erreicht. Auch ein großer Pluspunkt, das vieles im Haus selbst auch kinderfreundlich ist. Es gibt ein Babybett, Hocker in jedem Bad, das auch die kleinen sich die Hände waschen können, Sicherungssplint an den Türen und die Klimaanlage sorgt für jede Art von Klima in dem Haus. Alles in allem für das Haus, die Lage und alles Drumherum ein Top Preis und 1000 Empfehlungen Wert.
