Pros: a 15-minute walk to the center of the old town; a good breakfast with plenty of options; comfortable beds; ceiling fans (absolutely essential for August; housekeeping reset the room. Cons: shared bathrooms (somehow I missed this when booking); very basic room furnishings (nothing on the walls, no color anywhere, at least not in ours); feels a bit like a hostel (without the hostel bargain price); “parking available” means it is paid street parking (CHF 20 for a day pass through an app). Overall, decent and clean but not fancy by any stretch.
Ideal opportunity to experience “old school” B&B. No in-room TV, but you can sit in the breakfast room and play board games or talk face-to-face! Small honor bar can provide a beverage or two while you chill. Also, complementary tea and real coffee. Tables in the garden too. Easy access to buses. En-suite bath modern. On a budget? Experience a shared bath. They will soon be extinct. You can tell your grandchildren about it!
The property is old but clean and quiet as I expected. It is a little bit hot as there is no air conditioner but acceptable if you turn on the fan. The only thing we don't like is that there is no lift and you must carry your luggage to the third floor.
Very well run and well thought out accommodation. Breakfast is good value, the coffee machine available at all times is great. The shared fridge is a nice touch and the laundry is very convenient and a generous price which saved us a couple of hours of our own time. The rooms are clean and a good size, the staff are friendly and helpful. Can't really fault the place!
Staff was very friendly and property is well maintained. Good shower rooms despite being separated from rooms. Breakfast was also very good. I would return!
Not as it looked in the pictures on the Internet, when we first arrived, we received a room with no bathroom and when we requested a room with the bathroom, we were charged another $150. This is a shocker for people from the United States.
The Bed and Breakfast was so lovely! It's a really beautiful house, and all the staff was extremely kind and helpful. It was clean and the breakfast was delicious. The location was convenient - right next to a bus stop that took you to the center in under 10 mins (or ~15-20 min walk to the river). Overall and excellent stay!
We spent 3 weeks in Switzerland and spent a few days in Luzern. We agreed that The Bed and Breakfast Hotel was our favorite accommodation. We loved our room, enjoyed the fabulous breakfast, and after a busy day relaxed and ate our picnic dinner in the garden. Isabelle was outstanding, always very helpful which made our stay so easy. Thank you Isabelle. We hope to return someday! Theresa and Mike
We had a great time staying at this pleasant bed and breakfast. It is approximately a 15 minute walk from the main train station or you can take a bus that will easily connect you. The hotel was very clean and we had a shared bathroom (which was right across the hall from our room) but there are so many bathrooms it almost felt as though it was private. Bathrooms were always cleaned everyday. Breakfast was great, good variety of bread/meat/cheese/ yogurt etc. and the everyone we spoke to was extremely nice. Would definitely recommend
