We found this hotel fairly average which was disappointing as we paid a luxury price. The room and bathroom seemed recently decorated but lacked some features which we were expecting such as bathrobes, a fridge and a safe. Dinners were fine but the breakfast was underwhelming. No hot milk for the coffee, golden shred was the choice for marmalade and once the pastries were gone they were not renewed. Overall not very impressive.

The hotel is very convenient for walking to the shops, restaurants and sea, especially if hills are a problem.
The hotel also has comfortable lounges to sit in.

We were not aware when we booked that our room would not be in the main hotel. The room was small, airless and because we were in a courtyard we had to keep the curtains closed. The room was very basic, the shower pathetic and when we asked for mugs we were told the Hotel doesn't do mugs! Great food and staff but disappointing accommodation.
Perfectly located in the centre of Lyme Regis. Comfortable room, soft towels and luxury products. Breakfast was delicious both mornings and our evening meal was very good too. The shower wasn’t great in our room which we mentioned and they tried to improve its function. Also the blind did not look as if it had been wiped clean for a while but reception area was busy and crowded when we were checking out so I didn’t have a chance to mention it.
We stayed for a couple of nights. Comfortable hotel with a slightly old fashioned air about it. We didn’t eat in the evening but the breakfasts were good. Shout out to Sharon (forgive me if I have the name wrong) who went above and beyond to shuffle things around so that we did not have to move rooms during our stay during this VERY busy Bank Holiday weekend. Really appreciated her personal attention. The location is perfect for exploring this absolutely lovely town - and the parking is a godsend.
Perfect location, friendly staff, room we stayed in definitely needs updating, parking great but is challenging especially when busy, breakfast was ok.

I've always wanted to stay at the Royal Lion Hotel, having been to Lyme most years for the past 20 years. Im so glad I did!
It was a lovely stay. The staff will bend over backwards for you. We only had one meal there (breakfast) and it was the best Avacado on Toast I have ever had. Service was great. Plenty of menu choice but probably less than the norm.
If anything negative had to be said, it would be that the hotel generally needs a good carpet and upholstery clean. Its oldy woldy deco which should remain with certainty, but I would like to see a little more care in this area.
Overall, I will definitely be returning. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Lovely Hotel in a great location, helpful and friendly staff .
Room number 9 is spacious for 2 adults and a child with a large en-suite bathroom.
The hotel room needs an update, definitely double glazing is needed as it’s 1 floor up from the high street, we barely had any sleep due to traffic noise.
Lovely atmosphere, very helpful and courteous staff.
Easy check in.
Breakfast was fantastic, choice of buffet and cooked plenty of tea and coffee and juices.
Unfortunately our stay was for one night only, would love to have stayed longer,we will definitely be back.
Also a lovely swimming pool and jacuzzi.
Lovely friendly staff. Nice breakfast.
Room (28) needs updating. Shower dreadful - no pressure! Needed window open because of heat and therefore room was noisy. I suppose, in fairness, we could have asked for a fan.
Convenient location with parking on site.
Great location in the middle of town; with on site parking. Very friendly and efficient staff, who cared about their clientele. Room was to a very good standard. Swimming pool - remember you need to book a time slot in advance. Breakfast - good choice. Overall good value for money - for the time of year - August - would recommend.
