The property is undergoing a full renovation. Cute sized rooms with a small verandah overlooking the roses and vineyards.
New styled rooms. Keeping with the retro theme.
Beautiful gardens. Over 30 thousand rose bushes.
Beautiful garden trails. Just peaceful away from the hustle and bustle.
Next door the Barossa Chateau with gift shop, tour antiques and delicious high tea.
Both hotel owners and Barossa Chateau owners made us welcome.
You won't find many external photos of the rooms at Lyndoch Hill Motel. The motel rooms were built approximately 60 years ago and prior to the renovations would've given off a roadside motel slasher movie vibe. The new owners have thrown the paint around, with a view to capture a Palm Springs vibe. (Think, pale walls and pastel colours for doors and highlights)
Opening the door to the room showed a room that had been tastefully renovated but obviously on a budget. Weirdly the highlight was the new soft spongy carpet. The bathroom still had it's original tiles and wall to wall mirror, but again the Palm Springs inspired paint and styling freshened it up. The rooms are very comfortable to stay in.
There were a few downfalls:
* When we went, the restaurant was not open and still being renovated. It was one of the reasons we chose this place.
* The bed was far too soft to the point that the excellent new carpet was looking like a far more comfortable place to sleep.
* There was no hair-dryer in the room. This made getting ready for Saturday night dinner a bit difficult for my partner.
Beautifully styled, freshly renovated motel style rooms with convenient parking right outside your door. A short walk to Gomersal winery, and a short drive through beautiful rolling Barossa Valley hills to nearby Tanunda and other wineries, shopping and all the Barossa has to offer.
I had two pleasant nights. It was a short drive into the delightful township and easy access to the other highlights of the Barossa. Thoroughly recommend!

Liked: Cleanliness
Right in the wineries at the Barossa. Quiet and peaceful surroundings.
Had a lovely stay. Estate is undergoing renovations but didn’t interfere with our stay. Nice spacious room with private balcony. Staff had the heater going for our checkin with was very welcoming. Comfortable bed and stable wifi. Would visit again.
Room was old and poorly maintained, Key was not available as stated, Fridge had constant water leak, bathroom waste bin not emptied from previous occupancy, no meals available as advertised, gardens poorly maintained. Would not recommend this motel.
Clearly, the images on the internet relating to this property were not taken recently - our rooms were dirty, the furniture was ad hoc and uncomfortable, there was sand or grit of some kind on the sheets, the blinds on the back windows did not provide privacy from neighbouring back decks, and the heralded gardens are in desperate need of attention. We won't be going back.
Low cost budget stay enjoyed our 1 night accommodation

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
The room was lovely , spacious and clean . The property outside is run down and needs lots of attention. The potentially beautiful gardens have been neglected and are overgrown and dying . The photos on the website don’t really reflect the reality. The restaurant was not open during our stay
Slightly dated but very neat and clean. The bed was warm and very comfortable - not too soft and squishy as they often are. Having a toaster and microwave in the room was very helpful. Beautiful garden surroundings in the venue.
Very Cold room, no secure door towel for the shower It’s very dirty and it’s old Wi-Fi is not working no privacy inside the room because of the curtain. Everyone can see the inside from the outside building. All the light wiring hanging everywhere. Roof of building from inside. It’s got lots of fruit mark.
