It is in a great central location, in a pedestrian only street full of shops and restaurants. It is in an old building, totally renovated. The buffet breakfast is in a cave-like basement. Really cool! Great food!

Excellent: friendly and educated staff, breakfast was superb at the loveliest place, location is spot on, cleanliness. Good: feels safe. Very bad: elevator did not work (a secondary maintenance elevator was enabled, we preferred the stairs). Shower got clogged and the room flooded. Air conditioner worked well, but vent leaked pretty bad. Overall: nice looking hotel, right at Madrid’s heart. A vintage building which was fascinating by itself, but must keep their facilities up to date.

The location is great! I just wish the reception staff would have been a little more helpful when it came to figuring out the parking and driving rules in Barcelona. They live there and should inform the guests since the rules are a bit unusual.

The hotel is located on a pedestrian street which is a plus. However, the property is run down and has little to no amenities other than a good breakfast available for a price. There is only one elevator which makes getting to your floor difficult especially if carrying larger luggage. The rooms were clean. Hotel is not worth the price and should be downgraded to a two star rating.

Its a very conveniently located hotel, that is the best part. Breakfast is good. The room for three was spacious. The only thing is, I wish the AC was colder in the guest room especially when is 100 fahrenheit outside. The staff was super friendly.

Excellent location in Madrid centro, walkable, close to Plaza del Sol and Plaza Mayor. Very clean and excellent customer service from staff. A couple of things that need attention and improvement. The noise, you can hear everything from your bedroom. Personnel vacuuming woke us up almost everyday and they clean early in the morning. Not great for people on holidays. The elevator clearly says that received unfavorable score in the last inspection. We left with the impression that an accident can happen anytime.

Great Hotel In Perfect Location

Double Room - 8/10. Clean. Good size. Faced courtyard, so nice and quiet. A/C didn’t seem to work, but was bearable without. Would be nightmare in hot summer months. Bathroom - 8/10. Clean. Good size. Great shower, but door seal no good, so bath mat got soaked every time. Bed - 10/10. Very comfy. WiFi - 10/10. Very good. No issues. Breakfast - 10/10. Great choice and great quality. Staff - 10/10. ALL the staff were helpful, polite and professional. Hotel - 8/10. Perfect location. As well as the above niggles, the room key cards never worked first time (even after getting them replaced). And guessing this is a pet-friendly hotel, which is ok unless you’re near a yappy dog. Would still recommend though.

Great location! Size of the room was small but it is the price you pay for being in the middle of everything. Breakfast was great! Staff was very helpful! The beds were comfortable, shower was fantastic! I would stay there again.

For the price we paid, this hotel did not meet our expectations. We were particularly astounded that there was no basic coffeemaker either in the room (as would be reasonably expected in a 3-star hotel), or at the very least in the tiny common area on the ground floor or elsewhere in the hotel; and staff said we couldn’t even order a coffee during their breakfast period in the -1 level dining room unless we paid for their 14 euro pp breakfast. They gave us a kettle for our room and we ended up buying our own milk and instant coffee (not that instant could ever replace a good espresso but we were making do till we would get out for the day!) but for about 500 euros (about $740CA) for a 3 night stay, they should do better (in this case they literally could have brought us a few packets of instant and some creamers - at least something to demonstrate an attempt to address our needs). Expedia tried to get a refund on our behalf for our last night (so we could leave a day early and find another hotel), but the management refused to accommodate this request. With so many other better options in the vicinity, hotels that we know take more care to make guests feel welcome (e.g. a mini local wine bottle or cookies at arrival, a coffee station and microwave in a common area, as we experienced in similar 3-star hotels in Barcelona and Malaga ) this hotel should make some relatively minor adjustments so that guests can feel welcome and cared for for the price we pay.
