Great resort, amazing view of the ocean, lot of activities for kids and really awesome restaurants. Food was particularly very good at Anglers and Ale.
Lovely location and water views. Nice pools. The dolohin sactuary where you can simply observe dolphins was a winner. You can also buy a solohin encounter experience which is great for kids.
The property is somewhat dated anf is going through somw renivations.
They charged us $120 for the 'use of amenities' which consisted of old bikes, paddleboards (which we were told were kayaks) and a temporary gym which had very few pieces of equipment stuffed into a hotel room.
The staff is mainly incompetent. I asked at 657 if i could get a cup of coffee to wait until 7am when the coffee shop opened. Every employee who had to deal with computers for some reason had to press 100 buttons to conplete a simple transaction. Either they just got a new software or it is just a complex system but it always took long time to get a simple teansaction done
Food at rhe restaurants was not bad but wxtremely expensive. After one breakfast rhat cost us $80 ( two coffees, two avocado toasts and one small bottle of juice), we went to have our meals at restaurants outside of the resirt and found amaIng options!
Nice place to stop over on your way to Key West but definetly lacking the WOW factor. Do not feel the need to come back other than to see tbe dolphins.

I loved everything about this property. Tomas at the front desk was extremely nice, which I greatly appreciate these days with service industry standards changing. Also, I wish these properties would never do room charge, I've never been charged the correct amount at the end of the start regardless of resort.
It was very disappointing. Our room was dirty, hair in the tub. Faucet and drain in the shower were broken. 2 pieces of the drain (plus and entire phlange ) were just sitting randomly in the tub. The soap dispenser was broken off the wall and sitting in the tub. Phone didn’t work to call the front desk. Shampoo and conditioner smelled bad. Sink didn’t drain. It really was so gross. The conference area smelled like a nursing home. One of the public toilets overflowed everyday and poured over the whole bathroom floor so you had to walk through a wet floor to use the bathroom at the conference. Overall a very “tired” and dirty facility. Super disappointing. I will say, the food at the tiki bar was consistently good.

Bait and Switch
The hotel claimed that there were 6 restaurants and that they would be open until 10. There were only 2 "restauranrs" at the resort which were just tikki huts that served food. They had one real restaurant "on the property" but you had to take a golf cart, car or walk 15 minutes there. The website claimed the pools were open until 10 but closed at dusk, 5:30. The hotel claimed to have 5 pools but we only found 2. Staff was nice and hotel was clean but so disappointed in the false advertising.
They property is very lovely but having signs up telling us the pool and hot tub is closed at dusk in the winter is ridiculous especially when the lights and music is on until 9:30
The hotel is a decent property. If you are looking for the most expensive drinks in all of the Florida Keys, look no further than Hawks Cay. Their prices for drinks at their pool bar is laughable. However people travel for different reasons. I like going to local establishments and seeing the area and there are great bars and restaurants not far from the resort.
Pros:
Great location, an hour either way will take you to the top or bottom of the keys.
Hotel staff is really friendly. One of the singers, Molly, sang a special song for my daughter and danced with her.
Heated pool is nice, could use some cleaning though.
Cons:
Prices for drinks, 9 dollars for a bud light is wild.
We had cockroaches in our room 3 of our nights. Even saw them in the lobby at night.
The hotel making it mandatory for an incidental hold per day when checking in. 200 dollars a day is a bit much when you never plan on eating or drinking on property.
Would I go back? Maybe but it would have to be a steal of a deal.

We have stayed at hawks Cay resort a number of times now and once we are there we never want to leave. It is an exceptional resort. We stay as a family in a villa. It’s and exceptional value! You do not need to leave the resort but if you do all the water sports are close by.

good location between MIA and Key West. the on premises dolphin show was a bonus though the resort needs to be rejuvenated. it’s a budget family resort surrounded by time share condos… angler and ale the restaurant was a saving grace.

Best resort ever
Fantastic resort. Loved all the opportunities to watch the dolphins. Variety of pools and activities was great. Best experience at a hotel.
So got the room with a view and end up having a view of trees and construction equipment(have pictures). Also had a noisy generator running 24/7 outside our room and had to leave the tv on at night to sleep to drown away the generator noise. Now on to the resort the Pilar bar and main restaurant/bar were closed due to renovation along with the fitness center. If I was notified before my arrival I would have stayed somewhere else. Could have stayed at a condo for a 1/3 of the price. Food at the pool
Was good and the pool
Staff friendly. When asked to speak with a manager they were not there and asked for a call back before I left this review and have not heard from anyone.

Been going to this place for several years.
I stayed in the room closest to the pool. The smell of the carpet was horrible. Did not sleep because of the smell. For a room thats 921.. did not expect that. Very disappointed.
Great couples getaway, plenty of pools, poolside servers are awesome and work very hard! Plenty of open villas so only improvement would be to accommodate early check-in.
