The Merit Camp: private modern ranch house w/pool just outside Marfa City limits

Located on a large, agricultural, acreage tract just 1 mile outside of the City of Marfa, the Merit Camp is a 2 bedroom/2.5 bath home constructed in 2021 with saltwater pool that can be heated. Uninterrupted views of the Davis Mountains to the north, Puertacita and Haystacks to northeast, Goat Mountain to east, and Chinati Peak to the southwest. There is nothing else like this home near Marfa!

We built the Merit Camp so guests could experience what it is like to live on an operational ranch, but only a few minutes drive to all that the town of Marfa has to offer. The home was sited to take advantage of the movement of the sun, the big sky, and the sweeping views 20-30 miles in each direction. There are miles of private walking trails on hundreds of acres available exclusively to guests of the Merit Camp. High end appliances, luxury linens, and top-quality furnishings throughout bring all the conveniences of a luxury home to the untamed High Desert; there is no need to compromise comfort.

We offer rates for events of up to 100 guests; inquire for current rates.
There's a private patio. A kitchen is outfitted with a refrigerator, an oven, and a stovetop. Complimentary wireless internet access keeps you connected, and a Smart television is provided for your entertainment. The bathroom has a shower and a hair dryer. Conveniences include a desk and a microwave.
Enjoy the recreation opportunities such as an outdoor pool or make use of other amenities including barbecue grills.

Truly exceptional desert escape
Everything about this rental is carefully curated by the owner and the attention to detail did not go unnoticed. It checks all the boxes for me. Very close to town (less than 3 minutes) yet you feel far away. The house is SUPER clean and not overcluttered, it's minimalist but not cold which is totally my vibe. Clear and precise instructions on how to use everything. Owner was always quick to respond to questions I had before the stay and gave very specific directions on how to get there because we were arriving late at night. We didn't have any issues. I love how well stocked the house is. Tons of dishes and appliances, extra blankets and towels. Also love having a washer and dryer. I would highly recommend this rental for anyone who enjoys peace and quiet with incredible views. It honestly doesn't get any better than Merit Camp so you can just stop searching right now and hit that "book" button!

My wife and I have traveled all over the world and stayed in VRBOs far and wide, and this is the nicest, most beautiful and serene property and home we’ve stayed in. The house smells and looks absolutely brand new. Gorgeous pool. High end appliances and everything throughout. Location is just amazing. Literally a mile ish from the town of Marfa on a ranch property that is so quiet at any time of the day or night that you can hear a pin drop. Breathtaking sunrises, sunsets and stars. We've stayed at several places in the 10 years we've been coming to Marfa. This was definitely one of our very favorite places. It is just far enough out of town that you have almost complete peace and quiet. You can just faintly hear the frequent trains that come through Marfa. The house and backyard were wonderful. We spent a lot of time on the back porch just sitting and enjoying the tranquility. We had some cute little cottontails visiting us during our stay. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in the pool relaxing. We had everything we needed and more! Excellent home and we will definitely be back during our next trip to Marfa.

we were a group of 4 (2 adult couples) who enjoyed a couple of nights in this rental during a short stay in marfa. the house is very nice, the location is great (close to town but definitely away from it all), and the hosts/check in were smooth and easy. we were very happy with the house itself and would readily stay here again.

If you’re looking at this property and thinking it looks incredible, rest assured - it really is as good the photos make it out to be. It was so quiet out there at night you could hear a pin drop.
