Great Stay!
We had an amazing stay in the cozy yurt in a peaceful, wooded bog area. Megan is a great host and ensured our comfort with thoughtful touches. The beautifully designed yurt felt like home, and waking up to birds chirping in the serene surroundings was unforgettable. We left rejuvenated and highly recommend this hidden gem for a relaxing, nature-filled getaway.

Bird Sanctuary Glamping
We couldn't be happier with this oasis in the wilderness. We came to birdwatch in the Sax-Zim Bog, but saw plenty of species at the feeders next to the yurt. Megan communicated clearly at every step of the process so we knew what to expect and had all of the comforts possible - including a heater in the outhouse! Do yourself a favor: leave your phone off and stay for a week.

Excellent Weekend in Yurt
Megan and Aaron are excellent hosts that showed great hospitality and quick communication. I was very impressed with the quality and care they put into their yurt. The wood stove and propane heater do a fine job keeping the place warm (it was 20 below outside when I was there and 65 above in the yurt), and the water system and heated outhouse are cool touches. The place is super close to the Sax Zim bog Welcome Center, so it served as an excellent home base to embark on my adventures to the bog. If you are looking to visit the bog (or get a feel for off grid or yurt living in general), I highly recommend this property!

Birding and Glamping Together At Last!
This is a beautiful rustic new yurt (it's only been rented to the public for the last year or so and everything is so clean and wonderful and well stocked). It is very basic, but if you're looking at this listing, you probably know that. Stayed comfortable even though it was -26 outside at night and it's in the heart of wonderful birding country. Couldn't recommend it enough. A word of note… If you'd like to drink out of non-paper cups, or eat out of non-paper bowls, be sure to bring your own supplies with regards to this. But truly, you couldn't ask for a better experience than staying at this place. It even has birdfeeders out front so you can wake to the sounds and sights of Feathered friends, even in the midst of winter!

Cozy and convenient lodging for birding trip to the Bog.
The yurt was an easy drive from Sak-Zim Bog where we were birding for the weekend. When we arrived Megan met us and gave us all the information we needed to know about the wood stove, cooking facilities, battery power for our devices and the lights. The yurt was already warm and cozy upon arrival and stayed perfectly comfortable through our stay, even though a blizzard was raging outside. This is a charming and amazingly well appointed little house in the woods.

Magical place to stay!
The property was magical! The yurt was clean & very comfortable. We never got cold even though the temps were in the single digits. The hosts were extremely accommodating, stoked woodstove for us while we were out birding! They thought of everything: heated outhouse, electrical units in the yurt, bird feeders for viewing local birds, motion lights on path. Walk in was beautiful!

Great Winter Getaway
We had a wonderful time at the yurt. The wood stove is so cozy & we loved the quiet mornings with the birds at the feeders. It’s also close to Sax Zim Bog for exploring winter boardwalk trails. I would recommend this stay!

Super cozy yurt
Absolutely perfect. It was -28 degrees out, and we stayed cozy warm. Location is perfect for birding at the Bog, and the hosts are so kind and helpful. I came to the yurt last year, and fell in love with it. Definitely the perfect lodging for a Sax Zim Bog trip!

2nd stay
This was our sending time at the yurt. We just love it there. The location is perfect for visiting the bog area. It is so cozy there and the Maley’s are such great hosts. They have added amenities since we were there last March such as an outdoor shower and more power boxes. The only other thing that I could possibly want is a birdfeeder or two that I could view out the window while sitting on the couch. If you are visiting in the winter, slippers would be good to bring as the floor stays colder. As I sit here pondering my next stay there, I asked my husband, “how hot do you think it gets inside the yurt during the summer?” We just might have to find Out. ou.

Fabulous host
Unfortunately, I had a car accident on the way to the yurt, and we were unable to go. We stayed at the yurt last year and had an absolutely fabulous experience. When I reached out to Megan about my accident, she was so kind and gave us a refund (even though it was non refundable!). We plan to try again in two weeks. I so appreciated Megan’s kindness and understanding, and I know from last year it is an amazing place!

Great place to feel the wilderness
Our family stayed in this beautifully built Yurt over the New Year's night. Host made us feel like home and comfortable at arrival. The place felt warm and inviting right away so we had super quiet and unforgettable experience. In the morning, birds were all over feeders, so we enjoyed their chirping. Too bad we had only one night, but will try to come back.

Love the Yurt
I've always wanted to try out a yurt and it turned out to be a great experience. While a yurt may be seen to be something like a fancy tent, it is really so much more - a very civilized place to stay. My stay was for a couple of days between Christmas and New Years but the weather was more like early November. Nonetheless, I think the wood stove and the backup heating system would handle below zero weather just fine. It was warm and toasty inside with just the wood stove. The two power sources - a large Bluetti and a smaller Jackery handled my admittedly small needs just fine. They powered the three lamps as well as the electric kettle and device charging. The Jackery was also able to power my CPAP machine for almost two nights - it did run out of juice for it toward the end of night two, but no big deal. The bed was very comfortable and the covers kept my warm even when I let the fire go out in the middle of the night.Megan was an outstanding host - she is very engaging and gave me a more than adequate tour of the yurt when I arrived. After that I did not see her again but was available in case something went wrong - nothing did.
