For a new hotel, as seasoned travelers we were ‘underwhelmed’ by the experience. In room service for food was awful: we were too tired from our traveling to sit at a restaurant downstairs, so we ordered in: the pumpkin soup was like water and was stone cold: the accompanying ‘toasted bread’ was cold & untoasted. The Caesar salad at $26 was a disgrace: we have had many gorgeous ones in our time: we rate this one as 2/10. The only reasonable thing were the chips. Turning to the room: it is suppose to be soundproof. Well it’s strange I was awoken several times during the night to the noisy vehicles & other sounds. Additionally, the clear glass fridge light stays on all night lighting up our room: I ended up positioning some towels over it, at some ungodly early hour. The room temperature was hard to control: we manually dropped it back before bedtime as it was far too warm: seemed to change itself during the night back to warm. The tea/coffee facilities are poor also: the only good aspect was the terrific mugs provided. No drinks in the fridge/no minibar for exhausted travelers like ourselves: for $190 for the night, compared to other recent hotels, this stay was overpriced and under performed to a reasonable value for money proposition: one of our core reasons for originally picking this hotel over dozens of other options was that it was an Accor hotel & was close to Melbourne airport. Expectations were high but the stay was not: disappointing guys.
