The relais is a unique historic property in a quiet town along the beautiful Loire River. The staff appeared kind on the surface. The bathroom in the room was clean. On check in we pointed out that the curtains on our room, in the front corner of the hotel, facing the street, did not close. We were told the market was not open and they had nothing in their hotel to fix it. We used hair bands for the first night and on day 2 nothing was done to remedy the curtains. The windows and curtains were also filthy. The lights next on the left side of the bed did not work. There was also a book on the desk with mildly pornographic material and we were travelling with children. The breakfast buffet was well picked over at 9am and we had to find a staff person to ask it to be restocked. We asked to check out of a 3-night reservation after the 2nd night. Orbitz said it would handle it. When we did not hear back from Orbitz the next morning, the staff advised they had agree with Orbitz we would pay the hotel directly and Orbitz would refund us. After 2 weeks we have paid for 5 nights, but only stayed 2 in a crappy hotel. I'm disappointed with both my service from the hotel and Orbitz. I have spoken with multiple Orbitz staff but they say they are waiting on the hotel to confirm. I have provided receipts and the management of the Relais is refusing to contact Orbitz according to them. Either the hotel or Orbitz is trying to steal my money. DO NOT STAY HERE.
