An absolutely excellent 2 day experience. What helped make it so was the the staff! The concierge team and desk were very capable in English, but more importantly gracious and knowledgeable. All the amenities we needed were here or nearby. They helped us book a personal tour with patience and expert advice. Saludos to Daya and Adrian!!

I would definitely bring people here to wander the halls and check out all the displays and history, but i would probably not stay here again, would definitely never order an old fashioned at the bar again, or ask them to order me a taxi again. the water pressure was great at the lobby and museum-like displays dispersed throughout the entire hotel are fantastic, except all the descriptions are in spanish. the old fashioned was mostly bitters, which, as you can imagine, was disgusting.

The Geneve has been in business for well over 100 years and the foyer is beautiful and full of old world charm. Our room was spacious and, quite frankly could have benefitted from a makeover (new carpet). The staff is fantastic and very helpful. We booked a balloon ride with the nice gal at the consierge desk.The fellow that called us a cab to the airport was 74 years old and had worked at the Geneve for 55 years. We would stay here again.

Property is historical and very interesting but old and tired. Location is not bad and walkable to most areas that you would want to visit as a tourist. Close to Roma but more economical than staying right in Roma.

This hotel is a much beloved and historic hotel to the citizens of Mexico City. It is a turn of the 20th Century gem with cases filled with historic memorablia about the famous people who have stayed there. It is very unique and walking distance to a great many things.

The Grand Entry is beautiful. The rooms were less than desirable. Had to be moved twice to have a so, so room. First room A/C did not work. Several members of our group on same floor had same experience and had to be moved. Second room had drain flies coming from bath drain and around window in room. Would never stay in this dumpy hotel again.

The hotel was clean but falling apart. The boards of wallpaper were falling off the walls and being stacked. The hotel itself is old (and unclear how it’s five stars) and the room AC didn’t cool the room down. The staff are very friendly and everything was clean. Wouldn’t recommend but wouldn’t say avoid.

The historic beautiful hotel
I always enjoy the stay on this beautiful historic Hotel in the city center of Mexico City. The hotel is well centered close and walkable to everything you need like shops, restaurants, attractions. It’s a very safe area you can move in uber wich is very convenient to a lot of places. The hotel is amazing i really recommend it

Gracious old hotel, like a rich distinguished man or woman who has aged. The hotel needs updating. The breakfast buffet was mediocre, including the service (not five stars). The dining room furniture is old and tired and so is the decor. The staff was verbally pushy for tips. It is at best a four star property, not five stars by international standards. The management needs to pay attention to details. We notice them, for example worn out carpeting and walls with paint peeling. Don Ariel, the concierge gets five stars. Very helpful. Zona Rosa is fun and central but a bit raucous.

This is a 3-star hotel masquerading as the 5-star it might have been 100 years ago, but now it's shabby. Which I had expected, but even its historical side is displayed in a tacky way.It's not bad, but every amenity feels like a weak version of what it could be, and it needs a refresh.

I have always enjoyed stay at the Geneve, however, this time was very different. First, they put me in a part of the building with no elevator. Second, housekeeping missed me the first day and almost the second until I call the front desk asked for services. Third, when housekeeping did come they left the dirty towels that were on the floor for me to pick up. It’s a shame because I have always enjoyed this hotel and I’ve recommended to friends in the past.
