This place has potential but fell far short of expectations, especially for the price point. Specifics of the bad and good:
Hands-down the worst shuttle experience of our lives. We had three hotel shuttles wave at us and drive right on by, despite repeated calls to the front desk and waiting for over an hour in Miami's worst cold snap in the past 50 years. It was miserable. The 4th shuttle tried to drive past (same driver as the first pass) and my wife had had enough--she literally jumped out in front of the shuttle and forced him to stop. When we got on board, the entire shuttle was empty--he was making rounds listening to music and not picking anyone up at all! Unbelievable. While we were loading up, the shuttle completely filled with other people we'd seen outside--he'd been bypassing other guests for the last hour too.
On to some good things: The front desk manager, Autrice, is priceless. She apologized about the shuttle driver and assured us she'd handle the problem. She gave us some complimentary drink passes for the bar--which she correctly noted we needed by that point. She also upgraded our room.
The room was spacious and clean, and the bed comfortable, with plenty of pillows. Water pressure wasn't too good, but the water was hot and never ran out. There was also a good amount of counter space in the bathroom. Automated light shut off quickly tho.
Room was noisy with a large gap under the door that allowed hall light to flow in along with sound.
