The Great Lake Hotel lies way up on the central plateau and hence is a great place to explore this alpine wilderness. If you like trout fishing there is ample choice. Regarding the Hotel, rooms are very comfortable, staff are so friendly, restaurant is good and the wallabies are a delight in the evening. This is a great place to relax for a few days.

Beautiful living space overlooking magnificent lake

We were awed by the generous open living space, with views over the lake. We used the well equipped kitchen to prepare our meals and even went for a refreshing afternoon dip in the lake! Later, we played board games by the fire. It’s a very idyllic, peaceful part of the world. Wish we could have stayed for more than two nights.
