The Hyatt House near Mall of America and MSP Airport is a smaller hotel with a modern, corporate feel. While everything in the room was clean and functional, the décor felt bland and lacked the warmth or character I've experienced at other Hyatt House locations.
Location-wise, the hotel is excellent—it's extremely close to the Mall of America, likely within walking distance, which is a big plus.
Staff & Service:
The staff here are a highlight. Everyone I interacted with was friendly, helpful, and professional. I really appreciated their welcoming attitude throughout my stay.
Amenities:
* Free breakfast is offered, which is always appreciated.
* The kitchen closes at 10 PM, so if you’re arriving late, that might be a limitation. However, snacks and small food items are available for purchase 24/7.
* There is no ATM on-site, and none of the employees could provide change for a $20 bill, which made tipping or small purchases inconvenient.
Tipping Concerns:
Unlike other Hyatt properties, this location doesn’t offer digital or QR code tipping options for housekeeping or the shuttle driver. It would be helpful if they implemented this, as it’s becoming a standard in other hotels.
Guest Demographic:
One downside I noticed was the overall atmosphere. The hotel tends to attract a younger, rowdier crowd. At times, this made the environment feel less relaxing. It's worth being aware of if you're looking for a quieter stay.
