We stayed for two nights at La Bella Modena Centro in early April. The hotel was fairly easy to find with Google Maps, and I made arrangements in advance to secure one of the parking spaces for our rental car. The hotel isn't staffed for most of the day (I believe there is something at the small desk for 2 hours or so each day), but the instructions for self-checkin were very clear and easy to follow.
The building is very lovely and well maintained, and the room was also very modern and clean. The room wasn't that large but it fit us and our one large suitcase comfortably enough. If you had more than 2 suitcases, you might struggle to find room for everything.
There isn't an elevator in the hotel, and none of the rooms are at the entry-level. So if mobility is an issue for you, this may not be the best place. It wasn't a problem for us, though.
The location of the hotel was perfect: it was just a few minutes walk to get into the old center of Modena, but outside of the touristy area so you didn't hear foot-traffic at night.
