Nice and neat property. Food was good, great grounds and gardens . Whilst it has History and character it lacks just that little something that would take it to the next level. But great value for money we would definately stay there again.

Great hotel
Wonderful stay, the room was very large and comfortable. Great terrace and bar area to relax. Restaurant was excellent both for dinner and the included breakfast. Loved the art deco theme and all the staff were friendly and helpful. Will definately be back.

Wonderful and a real haven
Being at the Montagu Country Hotel is a delight. It is like stepping into a special world. The garden is beautiful, we had a lovely room, the staff were friendly and helpful and the food was good. Our car was safely parked behind a gate. We have been to this hotel many times and it is great to see it being updated while always retaining its charm.

The Hotel is busy under going renovations which we were not made aware of at time of booking. Bath/shower water flow was poor. Gardens are beautiful and the food was excellent. Overall very satisfied.

Wish we had stayed longer!
Don't even think twice - book this hotel immediately! Ask for the African Hut, which is a deluxe double, and you'll find yourself with a thatched-roof lodge all to yourself. The bathroom is gorgeous - huge, and with a soaking tub plus double shower. There is a sitting area, well-stocked coffee/tea service, plus a very comfy bed. If the weather is fine, you can sit outside and enjoy the gardens. The included breakfast is very generous, and dinner was well-priced and delicious. Go ahead - click the Book It button!

Stylish old-school but with modern amenities
Fabulous old yet stylish hotel - lots of attention to detail in decor. Great location, within historic area in Montagu. Service was always top class, both in hotel and restaurant. Food was excellent, and a bit rustic, as would be expected. Gardens looked amazing for a drought-stricken area. Wifi worked better than expected. Surprised to find secure parking area as part of hotel. Room was on first floor and there is no lift, but I had only small luggage items (they did offer a porter). Would certainly recommend and consider staying here again.
