The location is superb for day trips to San G, Siena, Volterra, Florence. The views are absolutely breathtaking. The kitchen is spacious, but there is nothing stocked; there was no salt, no pepper, no sugar. We came from Canada and never expected to need to buy these staples. We left balsamic vinegar and a salt and pepper grinder for the next renters. We had to ask for toilet paper and extra dishwasher puck, as there were only four left for an eight day stay. This was rectified shortly.
The small washing machine works perfectly and there are now two drying racks for outdoors. The clothesline is very rickety, and we wouldn’t recommend using it. Everything works however the hot tub runs only from 10 to 6 PM. There is no hot tub in the evening. This was a surprise to us, because that’s usually when people use a hot tub.
The small annexed, one bedroom apartment, has serious water back up problems in the shower stall. There was also a developing water leak in the ceiling of the bedroom.
In the main house, everything worked, but things were very tired. One thing to be aware of, is that you cannot run a microwave and washing machine, or a hairdryer, and a dishwasher, for example, at the same time, as it will trip the breaker switch.
The owner, Paolo, showed up twice a day to sweep and run the pool vacuum system. He is very friendly.
Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful terrace from early morning, until after we got home from our day trips. The beautiful skies and smells of Tuscany are magnificent. As noted earlier, with some attention and fresh paint, and with some new living room furniture, the place would be absolutely perfect.
