The staff is incredibly helpful, and seem to pride themselves on going above and beyond to help the guest. Very good restaurants within easy walking distance. The breakfast, at 14 euros, is a bit overpriced.

Hôtel de Greuze is an ancient building of great charm, set in beautifully planted and maintained grounds. The staff are all most friendly and helpful, making it the perfect base for a visit to Tournus and its spectacular St. Philibert Abbaye.

Charming old hotel
The hotel has lots of charm, while slightly run down. Located in front of the old church in Tournus, a convenient location for a nice stroll around town.

Wonderful hotel in a lovely old town in Burgundy
Lovely old hotel. Receptionist rushed out when we we arrived to take our luggage, a real, very courteous gentleman. Plenty of secure, off-street parking. Room was beautiful - large and clean. Dinner was fabulous. Only slight niggle: the WiFi didn’t quite reach our room.

A wonderful gem of a hotel!
I had an AMAZING stay at Hotel Greuze!!! I landed in Paris early Saturday morning and picked Hotel de Greuze from reviews I read on hotels.com. It is a beautiful property, and I was warmly greeted by MTthew, who showed me to my beautiful room, and made dinner reservations for me at a delicious restaurant across the street. The town of Tournus is gorgeous!!!! In the morning, I was assisted by Celine, who helped me with directions to Beaune. I had no idea she was the owner-Soo warm and genuinely kind and humble. I cannot say enough good things about this property, and cannot wait to return!!!!

Elegant hotel in a lovely Burgundian town
We have been coming to this charming hotel for fifteen years. Its easy access from the motorway makes it the perfect stopping point to and from the south of France. The town of Tournus has several excellent restaurants. Staff at the Greuze have always been cheerful and welcoming and we like very much the classical good taste of the rooms. A good breakfast and air conditioning that always functions well add to the comfort of our stays.

After some atrocious travelling conditions we arrived at Hotel Greuze to a warm welcome a great room and a booking to a local Michelln star Restraunt as there’s was fully booked. Exceptional service, this has been a favourite of ours for years and still gets better. PT , LT Buckinhhamshire UK

Excellent location to train and Cathedrale
The staff was lovely, even sort of remembering me from a trip 6 years earlier. I have some French but the staff had fluent English so that made things easier for me. Also, it was the morning after the Paris shootings and we were all trying to find solace from each other. I was glad to be at the Hotel Grueze that morning.

Very beautiful hotel fantastic room size
We stayed over for one night as we passed away through . The room was fantastic as was the setting . The bathroom was large and clean . Our only problem was breakfast we wanted breakfast in our room but was unable to find the form so we asked at reception . We got the impression from the man on reception that because we did not use the restaurant for our evening meal we could not have it in our room as the order forms are put in your room while you dine . The breakfast we had in the end was very expensive and poor quality 12€ each for a basket of bread and a pot of coffee . Meat/eggs /fruit/ cereals was all extra and over priced

Ideal stop en route through France ...
The hotel is charming, friendly, traditional and well run. Rooms are quiet and comfortable with everything you need and would expect, even a working wifi signal which is rare in most hotels. The smart restaurant of the same name next door is actually under separate management but there is a wide range of good eating in Tournus. The hotel entrance is quite grand with a big gravel drive/courtyard and plenty of (free) safe parking. There is a comfortable bar with an open log fire in winter and breakfast is a good, basic 'continental' onto which you can add things like eggs and yogurt for a small extra charge. Hôtel de Greuze is in a great location next to the abbey and a short walk through the old town to the river Sâone. It is also just a few minutes from the autoroute and has two low-cost filling stations on the way, so fill up and spend your saving on a nice glass of St Veran ...

Great location, staff was outstanding!
As a rule we are accustomed to more "full"service hotels, however this property was very comfortable, excellent location, and staff was excellent.
