Food is crappy and bland. They need to find a couple of new cooks ASAP. Food is undercooked and they definitely can't cook rice. Maybe only two building got an update but the other seven is rundown moldy disgusting.

We really enjoyed our stay at Catalonia! The property is exceptionally clean & staff very friendly & very helpful! We thought food options were all delicious. Buffet had huge variety for all meals & there were 4 additional restaurants on site to make reservations at. The jerk bar by the beach was one of our favorites! The resort was built in early 1970s, so the outside has a vintage feel. However they have been doing renovations on interior rooms. The foyer & eating areas were all very nice, clean, & upgraded. We really enjoyed the open air design! There are employees everywhere, catering to whatever you need. Drinks, cleaning, picking up dishes, gardening. All of the bars did very well mixing drinks with very little wait. There is a schedule board posted by the pool that explains each days entertainment. We really enjoyed that, however, we did feel the nighttime entertainment was a little bit late. After a full day in the water and sun we found ourselves going to bed earlier than normal. we also loved jerk bar because they played island music like reggae & Caribbean sounds. We stayed at this hotel a week. We left resort to go on 3 excursions. we also took advantage of water sports offered on the resort. There is plenty of food & plenty to do to keep everyone busy! We carefully read reviews before selecting this resort & ignored comments about TVs not working. We don’t go on vacation to watch TV! Remember it is a foreign country & modern accommodations may differ. Loved it!

Nice location and weather but poor maintenance of electrical and mechanical systems. Elevator did not work and room AC failed twice during our week. We would not recommend the Catalonia Resort in Montego Bay.

We have stayed there 8-10 times (holiday inn resort) loved the shopping on the gift shop sidewalk going to pool… breakfast is the best! Hibachi was excellent and Italian restaurant didn’t have chicken parm! So a little disappointed. Massage was excellent! Shorty at the jerk bar was excellent server. Very friendly. O’Neil - maintenance guy and beach cleaner excellent worker love talking to him every time we come.

The staff was friendly, the pool and beach was great. I was there for 4 days with no tv the phone lines was bad. I which they had told me that they didn't no cable for the tv. I was there with a 9 year old child. They need to do better. The room was so cold that i had to shot off the AC in the morning the room is wet from the Mirrow. The walls, the floor to the table. Never been to a resort and went through this before. Never again through. I will take my business somewhere else.
