THE SPACE:
The "Monte de S. Tomás" is situated in Montemor-o-Novo, near Évora (UNESCO heritage town), it was designed to be the leisure home of a family of Cascais with land connections, and their friends.
This space with 2 hectares of old olive grove and orange trees, consists of the family house, the house of the caretaker, the barbecue, the pool, the barn and 2 wells. Both houses were born of the reconstruction and extension of the old constructions existing in the place according to the characteristics and architectonic specificities of the region.
The large house or family home, have a common room with an Alentejo fireplace, 3 bedrooms, 1 office, 2 bathrooms, kitchen and a fantastic porch where family and friends meet to eat, talk and rest. In summer the porch is the place to be of excellence, very quiet and relaxing that invites to reading and leisure.
The eclectic décor, where typical local objects blend with family or contemporary objects and furniture, creates a contemporary, cozy and comfortable country setting.

The installed pool tries to recreate the old irrigation tanks existing in the region, it is the place to cool off from the intense heat of the summer.
The existing barbecue, initially used in the days of agricultural work, has become a place where the friends of the family live, and there they make large and long barbecues.
The small house is a house of support to the works of the field.
Around property (Mount St. Thomas) there are numerous dirt paths and rails to explore, walk or ride a bike (they have 4 bikes available).

GUEST ACCESS:
Guests have full access to all facilities while the large house is for the exclusive use of guests.

INTERACTION WITH THE HOSTS:
At check-in I am always there to greet and welcome my guests.
My availability to interact with guests is total however they are the guests that define this interaction.
When I'm not available, Manuel (the caretaker) is available to deliver the keys.

There's a private patio. A kitchen is outfitted with a refrigerator, a stovetop, and a microwave. A Smart television along with a DVD player are provided for your entertainment. The bathroom features a shower, a bidet, and a hair dryer. Conveniences include a coffee/tea maker and a washing machine.

Falta de privacidade
Este local é muito bonito e tranquilo e a casa é muito confortável. Mas se procura privacidade é melhor procurar noutro sitio. Aqui vai ter o caseiro todos os dias a rondar dentro da propriedade. Isso para nós não funcionou muito bem. Não voltaremos.

Muito potencial, um pouco aquém.
Esta simpática propriedade é localizada numa zona calma e propicia a dias de descanso. Tem alguns problemas basilares que vão fazendo diminuir a qualidade da estadia. A zona da piscina é agradável, mas poderia estar melhor mantida, faltando espreguiçadeiras para o número de hospedes. Também ao churrasco falta suporte e as grelhas não têm qualidade. O alpendre para refeições é agradável para passar o serão. Só falta mesmo uma mesa que não seja apenas uma tábua sustentada por cavaletes. À cozinha falta iluminação. Os colchões poderiam também oferecer mais conforto e uma das camas tinha problemas na estrutura. Estes problemas poderiam ser um pouco mais relevantes se tivemos sentido, da parte da anfitrã, mais simpatia. Contudo, desde o inicio que a Ana se mostrava com uma postura autoritária, questionando até o facto de sermos "jovens" e que não sabíamos, de certeza, manter uma casa, relatando hospedes antigos que, a nós, não nos interessava. Tivemos uma infestação de formigas ao longo da estadia e só foi melhorando pois gastamos dinheiro a comprar produtos para as eliminar. No final da estadia ainda fomos questionados da veracidade deste episódio, pois já não existiam formigas. Graças a nós. A casa tem uma fossa que não tem capacidade para 5 pessoas durante 1 semana. Connosco entupiu e a Ana ainda ficou aborrecida por chegar e a mesma estar entupida. Para resolver um problema de overbooking foi nos oferecido um fim de semana, mas por tudo isto, nem o vamos aceitar.

Vacances reposantes en famille
Merci Anna de nous avoir fait découvrir l'Alentejo en louant cette belle propriété. Une belle maison ancienne de la région bien rénovée. Tout était très propre, beaucoup de linge à notre disposition Toute la famille a apprécié la maison,son jardin et la piscine. Nous nous sommes vraiment bien reposés et Lisbonne n'étant pas loin nous avons découvert une belle capitale. Je recommande le treasure of Lisboa,un food tour incroyable. Nous avons également visité une fabrique de liège près d'Evora 👍👍 Bref un séjour alternant visites et farniente. Superbe

Dolce far niente alentejano
A nossa estadia nesta casa foi completamente de encontro às nossas expectativas. Foram 4 dias fantásticos em família em que até o tempo esteve a nosso favor. A casa tem tudo o que precisamos, e a limpeza é irrepreensível. Tudo correu bem desde o check-in ao chek-out. A Ana foi muito amável e respondeu sempre a todos contactos, por nós feitos. A D. Assunção, foi super simpática e acolhedora. Ficámos apaixonados por esta casa!

Jolie maison entretenue et isolée dans la campagne. Léger retard de la remise des clés mais les prestations étaient à la hauteur de nos attentes. Ana est disponible et parle un français convenable. 😊 Un four serait bienvenu. Nous avions demandé la préparation d'un repas portugais, malheureusement cela n'a pas été possible. Globalement, nous sommes ravis de notre séjour. Merci Ana !

Ruime , verzorgde vakantiewoning op het platteland.
Smaakvol ingerichte woning met oog voor netheid en comfort. Voldoende ruim voor 7 personen. Vriendelijke ontvangst. Onderhoudspersoneel staat iedere dag klaar voor de gasten. Vakantiewoning met een zekere service , een aanrader! Wij werden bij het in - en uitchecken verwelkomd door de gastvrouw, wat zeker kon geapprecieerd worden. Zij is innemend en zorgend.
