Just not my style. Full of 'ironic' Gen X touches. album covers, twee slogans and collections of semi-hip books, but little space for guests' things, not a single chair in my room, no real place to just sit and write; most public spaces were blasted with disco or Europop. Some of the staff were friendly and helpful, some were seemingly disdainful of my being of a generation to have grown up listening to the rock legends on the wall.
Shower an a/c worked well, internet threw me off a few times but was not bad.Nice to have the pool , albeit quite narrow and small, on the roof. Less nice to have ash trays in use at every table around it, but one finds the same in the American South.
Neighborhood utterly charmless, corporate park in process, but you're near the Gare and there is Tram service right by. and one can get easily to 2 supermarkets and- via foot of tram- to the very charming parts of Montpellier. Some people might love the faux-hip vibe--just not to my taste. On a practical level it's a solid choice. i found it typical that for all the rhetoric on the walls about towel and water use there was no recycling bin in the entire hotel- i asked 3 people...
