Tried to eat at the restaurants Indian shut Pizza empty a lady carte only 3 choices. The cost of club hire astronomical only 50 rand cheaper than a so I d of golf buggy and halfway house !! The clubs were poor incomplete and filthy and the buggy ran out after 9 holes. Should have been checked before. The course had workers on every hole ,some tees not in use most of the bunker out of commission. We should at least have had a reduction of th green fee. The room good but no bin so where do you put tea bags etc. The bin in the wc no inner so everything goes straight on the floor ! The whole place looks as if it's running down or out of money. Nothing in pro shop not even ball markers just socks size 12 !
Sadly not a legend for us. Next night ate at a lovely restaurant just up the road.
We had a great stay over New Years. The room was lovely with lots of space and great views of the mountain and surroundings. Very peaceful and overall great place.
We cannot fault the resort for its golf. However I would not recommend it for families. The hotel expect .the children to share your bed. I did ask for a seperate.bed to be brought to what I believe is a very small room but that fell on deaf ears.Virtually all alledeged activities for children were not available.and the food options for them were very poor.
warm welcome at arrival reception with fruit juice. bangalore style seperated building in the forest was good. wild monkey deer etc. No ventilation in the shower booth was no good. overall good. legend golf coursequipment was very good. 17th hole KJ Choi is my favorite golfer.

Liked: Room comfort
Disliked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Cheap, Lots of family activities & bad service.
1. Excellent setting and activity packages for whole family.
2. Terrible service at clubhouse with very limited hot breakfast and short-staffed. However Friendly, very helpful Manager.
3. Horrible dimly-lit stuffy gym, old limited machines, no stretching mats and leaking shower heads in the change rooms.
4. Well priced for a 4*Star but feels less than a 4*Star.
5. Needs more signage for easy navigation around the estate
6. Strong Wi-if where I was although others lodges struggled with connections.
7. Limited alcoholic bevarages if you not a fan of normal local beers.
8. Very very comfortable beds and spacious rooms with air con and mordern TV.
9. Friendly front reception as you check in and out.
I feel quite conflicted about our stay at the resort. It was a mixture of both good and bad. We really tried to enjoy ourselves and ignore small imperfections, but things continued going wrong for us. In our room alone we experienced a broken sliding door, broken window handle, dirty coffee cups (both), and smelly towels. Outside of the room were things like being told we could order off the menu, but after ordering being told the kitchen is too busy we should eat buffet - a complete waste with children. I started feeling bad about being perceived as a problematic guest with my complaints, so just tried to ignore some things. The resort can be amazing, but there are a lot of little things that need to change. Management really appear to do their best and were always accomdating, but there seems to be a split in terms of staff demeanor.
Apart from a very friendly security guard, the service was probably the worst I've ever experienced. Reception staff need some serious training in customer care. A very poor show of hospitality all round. We did not fret to much as we enjoyed the surroundings. Golf was also a disappointment as there were four T boxes we could not reach as there was irrigation all around us. We had to drive into the fairway and drop the ball to start play..?? I eventually asked the ground staff who switched off when we got to the fifth T box. Their "signature" restaurant was closed on the Saturday. Again would not have minded this if we were told before hand. We had no braai grid - when we asked we were told to go and take one from the other chalets..we did find that very funny and bizarre. Anyways, good luck is all I can say!
This hotel has all you need for an amazing safari adventure. The rooms are clean and have everything you need (comfy beds, spacious bathroom with great shower, etc). The staff is very nice and accommodating. You are in Africa, so no one rushes to get things done, but if you can relax into that you will have an amazing stay. The food at the hotel is very good. The safari is the best part obviously - it is an amazing experience! I would go back to the Legend and recommend it to friends.
The resort is overly rated and does not deserve the current star rating. Our stay was a disappointment due to many facilities not functioning. In the four days we stayed, the boma was closed, the tea garden was closed, no water sports as advertised, no star gazing as advertised, the legend field is in very bad condition, animal waste all over the basket ball court. Expect to see cockroaches everywhere, on numerous occasions we have had to ask staff at the restaurant to clean the tables. Only certain parts of the resort are well kept even the much publicized golf course is not well kept. Getting around within the resort is a mission some sign posts are incorrect. The buffet menu was only available for breakfast lunch and dinner was alarcate with overpriced menus. The main swimming pool is just a let down for a lack of better words. The resort lacks class and personality and hence I would rate it a 2 star.
We booked a king size bed and got 2 single beds pushed together that shifted away from each other as soon as you move on the bed. We wanted to do a braai but was told it was not allowed and if we want to use the boma we have to arrange it with the manager. We think that if they have facilities at the chalets to braai there will be more people visiting the facilities. We don't think that you want to eat in a restaurant each and every meal. Some of the activities was also very expensive and as much as you want to do them, you need to work out what you can do and what not, as the prices is just so that you can't do everything.
My guests, Nicholas and Lisa Wagner, were extremely disappointed with their stay.
- Following my conversation with Reservations advising that the couple were celebrating their anniversary, they were allocated a twin room. These details were also included on the initial booking.
- The HK staff member 'deposited' their gowns in the room in a black bag!
- After their spa treatment they were unable to shower as there was no water. Furthermore the spa bath water was ice cold. They had to bathe in the same cold water to remove the body scrub!
- I spoke to Jordan on Saturday evening re the room allocation and he did attempt to remedy things considering the room allocation. On Sunday evening dinner was set up on the roof of the Clubhouse; very romantic, but absolutely freezing, windy and unpleasant.
- The food from the initial meal at lunch on the Saturday in the Clubhouse to every other meal was awful. Nicholas commented that he could not understand that a burger could be messed up and when Lisa opted for vegetarian dish on the Sunday evening, it was inedible.
Unfortunately what was intended to be a special anniversary breakaway was spoilt by poor service, low standard of food and lack of attention to detail.
As I made their reservation and being in the hospitality industry, this is a huge embarrassment to me.
Kind regards
Linda
